Pink and Sage for Marcia!

I pulled out my favorite sage inks from Pigment Craft Co., then a pink or two and spent my day yesterday making cards with just those two colors.

Have you guessed the challenge?  Color Hues, of course and
my sweet friend Marcia is the hostess with the most-est!

I had another new stencil set from Waffle Flower to test drive - no time like the present!

Postage Collage: Wild Flowers with their original postage stencil as backup
singers... I'm thinking this is the first time I've ever added those 'airmail' stripes around the edge!

I found a lovely, patterned paper in such a wonderful sage and white:

This little bloom from The Stamp Market was the perfect specimen, and that die from PTI was just the shape to mount it on.  I cut
the bloom from white and used my blending brushes to add color.
This PTI Stormy Sky is in my opinion the most wonderful sage cardstock there is!

While shuffling through my papers I came upon this next one that has glazed roses - more 'antique' pink than Marcia's - but any hue will do they say!

I cut a panel with an old favorite from Winnie and Walter.
Here's her closeup so you can see the shine:

My die-cut 'rose' is actually a poppy - from Altenew: Craft a Flower: Poppy to be exact - but I think it makes a lovely rose.  A sprig of Boho Botanical from The Stamp Market and my card is complete! [we probably don't need to talk about those BP sentiments - do we?]

I might save this one for an upcoming wedding.

Okay, that's quite enough from me today - now I need to decide which one will be sent to Marcia for her Color Hues gallery!  Decisions, decisions! lol

Thanks for dropping by!

  2. One of my favorite color combos, and how sweet is that combo on your little postage stamp diecut? ALL of them are wonderful! I am so sad that SU got rid of Sage Shadow and Soft Succulent....I will keep them forever!

  8. Fabulous cards, Michele! I have yet to ink up my postage stencils, but I'm eyeing this one for inspiration! I love that PTI die and the patterned paper is just gorgeous! It's a perfect entry for Marcia's Color Hues Challenge!

  9. My goodness, Michele, you had a productive day! With not one but three glorious cards! I've definitely missed the postage stamp train thus far but so inspired seeing each card you create with these stencils. And the third card is very romantic with the most beautiful "rose". As for the card for CH, it is just so delightful against the dainty design on the background die cut! And I'm intrigued by the Stormy Sky sage cardstock, it's definitely going on my wish list. Thanks for sharing your gorgeous card over at Color Hues!

  13. Love all three but the middle one is my favorite. Who makes the green inks?

  14. LOVE these shades of sage, Michele! And the perfect shade of pink to go with them. You should design stamps for the postal service. Yours are so much better than any they offer! Your die cut flowers are both gorgeous on the patterned paper! I'll have to go see which made it into the gallery. All three are winners!

  20. Beautiful array of cards using pink and sage. Such a great colour combo!! The stamp card is adorable. Bonus ... always fun to have something new to play with. :) The second card is absolutely gorgeous. I LOVE everything about it ... from the amazing colour of the card front, the gorgeous bloom and that fabulous shaded background cut from amazing paper. It has it all! Your final card is so beautiful with the vintag-y type background and your beautiful layered flower. Great work Michele! xx

  22. How beautifully the Waffle Flowers Postal Collage set shines in the Color Hues Challenge colors. Soft and beautiful. I love that you used the air mail frame. Love the Stamp Market bloom and that lovely patterned paper for your wonderfully simple and gorgeous card. You are right about the poppy - it does make a lovely rose, and the colors you chose to layer it are so perfect. The background paper could not be more fitting. And you know I love those BP sentiments... Can't wait to get mine!
