Playing while Waiting for the Storm of 2024!

So far, we have only had a few flakes of that 'four letter word' but the National Weather Service says we're in for it - so here I am with a potpourri of cards for challenges on my radar!

First up for Just us Girls #709 - Word Week: Sparkle!  I hope a sparkly-two-ways sentiment counts!  This gorgeous embossing powder is worthy of a closeup:

It's really key to heat from the underside of these glitter-filled embossing powders -
ask me how I know...

I kept my card clean and simple as can be allowing the letterpress shine without
adding any ink at all.  I love this gorgeous Winter white!

Triple B January 2024 has a little birdy that caught my attention - see if you can find him here - and his little B-word friend!

I knew I could find a bird small enough for these TH Pines!  I found
just the ticket in an old PTI In the Meadow set - btw it's the same set where I found my sparkly sentiment!
There are bits and blobs of glittering snow on the branches - you'll
have to look closely to find it.  The hardest part of Winter for me
is the poor lighting for photographing in natural lighting.

Last up second helpings for the new Word Power Challenge #1!  More Betterpress-ed Evergreens and one big, beautiful sentiment:

Okay!  Now I'm off to brew up a big pot of Zuppa Toscana soup for dinner - that should keep us warm and satisfied all evening!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend that excludes bad weather and includes some crafty time playing in your favorite challenges!  Thanks for spending some time with me this week!

  1. Love the look of all 3 cards but the middle one stands out for me. Love all the texture and white on white. I have those tree dies and I am ashamed to say that I don't think I have used them yet. The hidden extras add to the interest too. Hope the storm comes and goes without any trauma for you xx

  6. There is a whole lot of pretty happening here! I spy the wee bird and his B-word friend tucked into all of that marvelous white! I love the way your sentiment fills your last card. I'm calling WWCD on that one! Hope you didn't get dumped on with too much snow and that your soup was tastey... mine was!

  19. It's inside weather all over the US it seems. I've been watching the news and I have to say I feel fortunate here and should not complain. Your snowy cards are beautiful, Michele! I really love the TH trees white on white. I have not done anything I especially like with those trees yet, but this is exquisite. You know how I feel about those Betterpress trees, sigh. Your soup sounds wonderful. Rich made enchiladas yesterday -- yum! He took some to our guy friend down the street (recent triple bypass) and I delivered some to my dearest sister-friend (newly widowed). We each had an enjoyable visit and then came home to our own reheated dinner. So good!

  20. All three of these cards are absolutely BEAUTIFUL Michele! The sentiment on your first card is so perfect for that tree line plate you used...gorgeous card!! And I did find the bunny and birdie on your 2nd card...what sweet additions and I always love seeing those TH trees! Your 3rd card is just as lovely too, and the sentiment another prefect fit!! You might have your Christmas cards done really, REALLY early this year!! Hugs. :0)

  21. Such a gorgeous array of cards, Michele. I loe them all, and they all have a quiet calm to them that snow brings (if you are home with a well stocked fridge, nowhere to go, and working heat.) My fave is the one with the snowflake background and the TH trees with tiny bird. They are all fabulous, of course!

  22. The white on white cards are stunning, Michele, and I do spy that little bird and bunny. Thanks for sending the sparkly sentiment one to Just Us Girls. I don't think I've ever seen that large sentiment on the green trees before. It's so great for the challenge and for Christmas.
