You might not imagine it, but I LOve to go fishing - have since I was around 6 when I sat upon my brother's handlebars, and we rode miles from home for the best catch of the day! It comes as no surprise that I had to have all of the fun fishing sets from HoneyBee Stamps - a few new ones arrived recently! They had a whole set of great sentiments for fishermen - and women - called Hooked on You.
Here are my first efforts - you can't be surprised I made more than one...
I loved the deckle-edged die from PTI for my card panel here, and below.
But look closely and you'll spy a bit of debossed 'current', too! So sorry Lil' Inkers isn't around any longer.
I think Cecile will allow my artistic stretch!
This next one is heading to a friend who just retired - shhh don't tell him!
The DSP is from PTI called Text-style: Postmarks- very old.
The die set comes with a bit more tackle but I see this pole and reel as a fly-fishing rig so I created a 'fly' for the hook - looks like it was the right choice - fish on!
I'd better get these delivered - thanks for stopping by!

You make me want to take up fishing with these special dies you have worked your magic brilliantly. My ex husband used to go sea fishing in an open boat. He took me with him once or twice and I got so cold I cried - never went again! Bet you enjoyed making these and I hope you know lots of fishing people to send them to xx
ReplyDeleteI just had to have this set too! But mine is still in the packaging, as usual your inspiration (enabling) is truly appreciated 😉!
ReplyDeleteThese cards are awesome! Very creative and fun!
ReplyDeleteWow!!!! These are absolutely FANTASTIC, Michele!!! The level of details in those dies is crazy amazing and your cards make these crafty goodies sing!!! Also love how you made them fly fishing rigs! Definitely have some fly fishers in our circle. Now I'm thinking I need to get these supplies to make some fly fishing cards...hmmm...thanks for the enabling, my friend ;)
ReplyDeleteYou've treated us all to the catch of the day with this trio of fun! Those products are in good hands with you, Michele. Hmmm... who retired ?!? Your FISH ON words remind me of a show Joe used to love to watch!
ReplyDeleteFabulous fishing cards! The recipients will love them no doubt 🎣
ReplyDeleteThree perfect cards for the fisherman or fisherwoman! Great sentiments!
ReplyDeleteThese are so fun! I think you must have infinite patience to put those skinny little fishing poles together, but the final outcome is just amazing! Love the backgrounds too...and the creel and fish look SO REAL!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun collection. I love that you enjoy fishing. You are a woman of many talents! That first card literally made me giggle out loud. Each card is fabulous in its own way. Thanks so much for sharing!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, Michele... you have really become and o-fish-ially brilliant card maker of the angler persuasion! I loved all the previous al-luring cards you made, but these take things up a notch. I love them all, really. Honey Bee is really a fantastic company, and you do their products much justice!
ReplyDeleteI love them all!!!! I think I bought these as well and greatly appreciate the inspo! My little Fin LOVES to fish.
ReplyDeleteI spy another set I'm going to need to borrow...oh my gosh are these 3 cards ever FABULOUS!! That pole and reel are so cool and I'm loving the sentiments too! And of course the backgrounds too!! And now of course I'm going to be thinking of eating your wonderful fish meals all day! Wonderful cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteAmazing cards, I love this fun set too! Both cards are wonderful and I think I enjoy the dies more than the stamps
ReplyDeleteSuper cute!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I am hooked on your cards. Each one is wonderful and makes me wish I had lots of fishing loving people in my circle because the cards are such fun and I'd love CASE-ing yours.
ReplyDeleteI knew your love of fishing and how wonderful to have a Mr who does, too! I'm totally hooked on your cards--a perfect take on the FMS sketch.
ReplyDeleteI thought about getting this set but went with only the lures and sentiments and have yet to make a card with them. I need to get busy since the men I wanted them for will have birthdays soon. I love what you did with the rod and reel, Michele. I love to fish but I really love eating them. ;)
ReplyDeleteA trio of great fishing cards, sure to please any fisherman. My daughter lovers to fish but doesn't eat fish.:)
ReplyDeleteThere are a lot of women who love to go fishing just like you. I have some very fond memories myself! I just love these sentiments, especially the first. Got to have a witness, ha! Great stuff here, Michele. The dies are awesome. I tend to really like masculine cards because I'm partial to anything involving the great outdoors. Today I'm going to have to put my rain gear on AGAIN just to take Sophie for a walk. Wet and windy!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Michele! I love your fabulous fishing rods, tackle boxes and fish! So fun are these cards and I DO see your currant on the second card! Love that deckled edge mat but what I love more are these fishing supply dies. Oh how I miss fishing, I always love to fish as well. Although not much fishing got done by me because I was always baiting the boy's lines for them and taking fish off. LOL Fabulous cards and I can see why you needed these dies! I just love that rod and it certainly does make a great fly fishing rod. Love it! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteNow you know my thoughts about fish and fishing (shudder) so the fact that I adore your fishing cards astounds me! My dad loved to fish - if he were still around I would totally hijack one of these designs for him! And that deckled edge background die is wonderful!
ReplyDeleteThese cards are fabulous! I love the dies and the sentiments are fun. Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fabulous set of cards, Michèle! I totally love how you played with the fishing line for the fanciful strips of the sketch! That's so creative and absolutely brilliant. Thanks so much joining us at FMS this week.
ReplyDeleteSoooo good mf....
ReplyDeleteYou do cas so well!!
