It's beginning to look a lot MORE like Christmas here on the shore of Lake Michigan than it did on December 25th! Though I'm sure we didn't get hit as hard as others, it's enough for me! I'll be mighty glad to see the sun again. But you didn't come for a weather report!
Peace on Earth Christmas #55 gave me the perfect opportunity to bring out my Betterpress to play with a few new press plates that arrived yesterday! [Yes, I did do a little bit of after-holiday shopping.] Take a peek at their gorgeous mood board...
Okay - take a really close look at the top right photo - do you see what I see?
Probably not... but I do hope you see them in my card...
I bought TWO plates with snowy pines - this one Evergreen Row from
LDRS Creative - a Michigan company! - with a lovely press plate collection. The ornament is Hero Arts, PEACE from Honey Bee, and the embossing
is a folder from Spellbinder called Stylized Trellis - a monthly club from January '23!
Here is her closeup so you'll see that I Stickled some snow instead of bejeweling my ornament like the ones in the photo.
Now you remember my rule, right? Why just make one? Here's two...
and three! This row comes from Spellbinders' and is called
Season's Greetings Evergreens. I set up my plate so that I could turn the platen and pressed a second time with the residual ink to appear as a shadow - or perhaps a reflection on an icy pond? Use your imagination!
Then I did a third pressing with just the sentiment [LDRS].
I had such a 'pressing' day - of fun! Thanks for dropping by - I'd better get those ornaments delivered!=] Michele
Oh those better press images are gorgeous. I looked into it, but sadly I have the wrong die machine. So I have to put it out of my head. LOL. All three cards are designed beautifully.
ReplyDeleteThat tree line plate is so pretty and looks absolutely BEAUTIFUL on your card Michele! Love the shadow you created below it too! White on white on white...LOVE it! The Spellbinder's tree line card is beautiful too!! You will definitely be ahead of the game for this year's Christmas cards if you keep going at this rate...good for you!!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteI am expecting that spellbinders tree plate to arrive at my house any day now. I wasn't able to resist the sales and as I don't have many plates yet, I had to do something to put that right. Love the reflection, what a clever idea. It is also great to see other companies making press plates. Your cards go very well with your cold snowy weather. Cold here too but no snow, thank goodness xx
ReplyDeleteThese are all beautiful! What a gorgeous way to emboss that reverse tree line....just stunning!
ReplyDeleteWow these are so elegant and absolutely gorgeous! I had better read up on this technique!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards, Michele. I can't believe that's an embossing folder on the first one. The dimension is crazy good. The reflected tree line is brilliant. You will be ahead of the game come December.
ReplyDeleteWowie, you really went to town with this challenge! Gorgeous cards one and all. I do see the trees in the ornaments. At least that's what I imagine they are. I'm looking at a smallish image. So beautiful. I love that embossing folder. It's so crisp. I was in the 2D club for a while, but I should have joined the 3D. This EF looks more like a cover plate die. The lighting in your photo captures the depth perfectly. Okay, I may have to buy the Betterpress just so I can get that evergreens plate. It's the most beautiful thing ever! I do love a forest.
ReplyDeleteLove the results of your 'pressing' day, I've been pressing too lol.
ReplyDeleteI see the direction you took and I like the way you think! Wowee are these ever pretty, Michele. The EF you used on the first one is especially lovely!
ReplyDeleteI see that line of Christmas trees in the mid-right bauble! Simply Gorgeous, My Dear! All of them... the press plates sure are pretty too

ReplyDeleteThree Gorgeous Christmas cards for your 2024 Stash:-) Looks like you have already mastered your new toys. TFS your beautiful clever creative cards, my friend. We are having lots of cold rain..low 40's and tomorrow in the high 30's...brrrrr. But we know how to dress in layers, especially when I go for my every other day 3-4 mile walks. And...our woodstove keeps us toasty warm and the humidity in the house lower:-) I will take rain any day over snow...TFS and keeping us inspired, dear friend. Love and Hugs...Nancy...stay warm too..
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards, Michele. Love that you saw the trees. I can totally see how you got that now. You are having so much fun, I can tell. And we are the lucky recipients who get to see the beauty you create!
ReplyDeleteOMG ... these are all STUNNING! Sure glad I don't have to choose a favorite! Such elegant cards, my friend! I'm loving those pressed pines, especially on the last card where you pressed multiple times. I hadn't thought to do that! What a great idea. I really wish we lived near each other!
