Last week I was invited to Play Cards by my friend Nora! She had watched a video by one of the wonderful Altenew designers - Michelle Short - and invited me to a Facetime Playtime to try it out together! How fun is that?

Nora and I had one of the same embossing folders Scenic Poinsettias from Spellbinders, and a few different ones to use, too. Since I'm not a tag maker, I chose to use the technique on a full panel - but only used part of it! Here's how that worked out:
These are the inks and supplies that were used to ink the raised images, and add a bit
of sparkle to my card using silver Delicata ink and silver embossing powder 'selectively'...
My next card was nearly thrown away - but I persevered. Since it was the background that I wasn't happy with I simply snipped it away by fussy-cutting the Altenew Berried Cotoneaster embossed image! I do love the technique on this deep dark green cardstock ...

I saved my favorite for last - those of you who know me well will be scratching your heads wondering why I chose the blue one as my favorite, I'm sure!
Nora and I both loved the gold with the resulting 'navy' that was the result of
swiping black cardstock with blue distress oxide inks with a finger dauber onto
this gorgeous Altenew 3D Poinsettia!
A simple die-cut sentiment adds the perfect final touch to my cards today!

They are all 3 beautiful Michele, but I can see why your favorite is the blue one...it has tints of gray in it, so of course it's your favorite!! What a fun technique and such elegant cards...LOVE them all!! Hugs. :0)

They're all wonderful, of course, but I just love that navy blue with gold on one of my all time favorite holiday embossing folders! Stunning!

OMGosh, your favorite -- YES!!! That is one amazing embossing folder and even more so with this technique. They're all gorgeous. This is my favorite technique for embossing folders, but I haven't tried it with colored ink. It's now on my to-do list.
Wow, wow, wow! These cards are amazing looking Michele!!! The embossing looks like it is jumping right off the page! I'm in awe. I am in love with each on of these Christmas cards! The colors look so different on the black backgrounds, it's amazing. They almost glow! As much as I love all three, I do have to say that I think the last one is my favorite as well. I feel like I could lift a petal right up! LOL Love these, love that you had play time with a friend as well. Now off to watch the video! Hugs, Brenda
GORGEOUS! While all 3 are beautiful, the blue/gold is definitely a fave here -- maybe one of my all-time favorites of your cards, and that's pretty hard to choose! Way to go, Michele, on the technique and perservering on the final card
Sounds like you had a fun and productive playdate with Nora! All three cards are stunning! I'm glad you fussy-cut and saved the image for the second card. The deep embossed impression of the poinsettias looks amazing! Love the unique color that the blue distress oxide ink on black cardstock creates. The little gold accents are wonderful touches too!

The dimension on the last card is mind blowing, Michele. So gorgeous but then so are the others. I'll have to remember this technique when I get back to my Oxide inks.

I don't think I can choose a favourite out of these dramatic and beautiful cards, but I can see why the third is your fave. Looks like you had a fabulous play date with Nora.
