Penny Black Saturday Challenge May 2023

I've had a serendipitous moment this morning - I found a home for a card that I made this week for another challenge, but sadly I hadn't read the rules quite well enough to include it - it was 'anything picked OTHER than flowers' - and didn't I just use a patterned paper with flowers?  Oy!

Moments ago, Bonnie's latest post hit my inbox and BAM!  I found a home for my card!  Congratulations, Bonnie on being Penny Black's Guest Designer for May - I'm so happy to play!

Anything goes - optional use of patterned papers!

Here she is...

'Carrot Collector' is the name of the PB Slapstick stamp c. 2015 - just one of thousands of Mo Manning designs - which was stamped in
Copic-friendly GinaK ink ...

Copic colored...

... then over-stamped with Versafine Clair ink.

HoneyBee's patterned papers are so bright and sweet, aren't they?  Their flowers were just the ticket to brighten up my garden scene - and perfect for the challenge.

Thanks, Bonnie, and Penny Black Saturday Challenge for providing a home for Little Miss Green Jeans!

Update:  Since I posted, I've heard from one of the wonderful owners of the Double D challenge Fresh Picked = it's good to go, according to Diane - thanks my friend for the invitation to play!

Freshly Made Sketches #584

My sweet friend Linda is the host over at Freshly Made Sketches #584!  That's as good a reason as I need to get the gang together again...

Thanks, Linda!!  What song do you think they're conga-ing to?

[I was so excited about posting that I just noticed that little fella in the middle of the conga line hasn't had his ribbon colored! Ha! no wonder he's looking at me with that WTH look on his face!]

Doodlebugs Friday!

Hey there, my friends!  I have a card that's for the birds - or should I say the bird-lovers?  Or is it the beachgoers?  You'll have to visit the Doodlebugs blog to find out!  I'm tricky like that...

The Flower Challenge #80 Pretty Pastels

Are you a bright and bold stamper, or are Pretty Pastels your style?  We hope so as that is exactly what we are looking for this month for Challenge #80 at The Flower Challenge!

I really don't have a preference myself, so it was easy to reach for a few of my lightest shades of Copic markers to color my florals... and this sweet flutterby inspired by my trip to our botanical garden in March!

This Wplus9 Flora and Fauna 3 set has really been loved and continues to be.
I created a screen of pale blue card stock with a PTI Ornate cover plate.
A bit of stickles in the center of each of these blooms and voila!  a pretty pastel floral card!

We hope to see you in our pretty pastel gallery!  Thank you for stopping in today - let's go see all the pastels my teamies have used, shall we?  OH! we also have a wonderful guest this month - you won't want to miss Maria's card!

Double D May 2023 Fresh Picked

Don't you wish you could take a little taste of these fabulous berries?

Double D's Fresh Picked inspiration got my creative juices flowing!  But, instead of berries, I chose a food from the vegetable garden!

These are the inks I used to give my carrots a little depth of color by
stamping and then adding shadows with a finger dauber.
I finally got a white gel pen to work for me for those little roots!
Kind of reminds me of those old ant farms that all of our little boys wanted, right?

OH BOY!  I sure hope they qualify - are carrots picked? or pulled?  lol

Hope your week is rolling along nicely - thanks for spending a little time with me!

Just us Girls #677 and Seconds for Color Hues #63

I really love the assignment Vicki gave for JUGS #677 - and I also LOved her card!

While reorganizing my supplies I found a die from MFT that looks very similar to the darling sunglasses that Vicki has on her card here:

CASEing her card was fun!  Here's my card with an explanation below:

While Vicki's elements were centered, I took mine to the edges!  There are those MFT sunglasses - in fact our beachgoer has found a friend!  LOved Vicki's sentiment.  In fact, I live it - I'm barefoot all year long - in the house of course! My fun sentiment is one from Waffle Flower's Sandy Toes which I heat embossed in white. You'll see that it was kept centered as Vicki's was.

I found a wonderful 'sand' paper in HoneyBee's Vitamin Sea collection.  A few palm fronds from Waffle Flower's Greenery die set.  My 'towels' were embossed with SU's Tasteful Texture and fringed with MFT's mini fringe die.

yes, Vicki, it is time to bring out my favorite Summer stamps, too!  Thanks so much for this fun challenge!  Since I used the combo from Color Hues #63, I'll be sharing my card there, too.

Color Hues #63, NBUS #50

DT member Hannelie has a fun color combo for us at Color Hues #63 - you know I'm not known for my love of color but after a bit of purging in my studio over the last two weeks, I found a stamp that just makes me smile and hadn't yet seen ink!  I had been saving it for a special day of play that sadly didn't happen - it was high time they came out to dance!

Enter my conga line of critters from Colorado Craft Co... there are some tell-tale signs that they did a little snacking along the line ...

That very big cake is also from CCC and was stamped first in Copic-friendly ink, colored in colors closest I had to those in the prompt, then over-stamped with VersaFine Clair ink.  I did a little fussy-cutting and popped my cake off the edge and popped up on my A2 side-folded card base.  The critters were treated the same way and popped atop my cake.  A little celebratory Stickles was added to the party.

Here's another thing to celebrate... I'm finally remembering to add my first-time use of this stamp to the NBUS Challenge #50!!!  [50?? goodness it has taken me long enough - sorry, D!!]

Thanks, Hannelie for prompting one last use of this cake before it goes in the purge-stack for the next card-maker to enjoy!
