New Inks!

Hi, my friends!  June is about to be ripped off the calendar!  It's HOT it's Summertime, and I was feeling the need for more color in my crafty life!

I had wonderful guidance about The Stamp Market inks from my friend Marcia who recently purchased two of the purple shades that she was missing from her own collection ... it didn't take much convincing, believe me.  We have similar taste, and share certain wants/requirements when it come to coverage, depth of color, and the type of pad we like the most.  I trusted her judgement!

I have been, and will continue to be, a big fan of Catherine Pooler inks.  The Stamp Market colors I chose fill the gaps in my CP collection, and add some really fun ones, too.

Ready to see my first play?   Here you go!

I brought out that sweet stencil from The Greetery again - you all seemed to love it
as much as I do!  But after stenciling, I won't waste a bit of that ink [Citrine is quickly becoming my favorite!] left on the stencil!  Oh no, I just spritz the inky side and quickly flip it over onto a piece of Canson water color cold press paper - waste not, want not!

Here are the inks I used for these first two cards:

Because I also bought a few greens, and darker shades of ink, my next card is a bit more on the moody side... it reminds me of the colors used in vintage upholstery fabrics, or an Audubon painting!  [see how beautifully that Citrine plays with the greens?]  Jade, and Navy leaves?  Yes, please!

FINALLY I've found a true, dark, saturated Navy!  Here are the rest of the inks:

To all of my PNW, and friends in Northern California - stay cool, my friends, and SAFE!!  Your temperatures bring new meaning to hot, Hot, HOT!!!

Thanks for your visit - and even more for leaving me your thoughts...

  2. Yes, I heard it's just a little 'hot' over there, which is weird when it's raining and cool here.... how about we 'trade' a few degrees lol. I haven't tried these inks but trust your judgement, maybe I need to get a few (like the drawers I have aren't full enough haha). Beautiful card inspiration as usual hon x

  3. I am so impressed with how you played with all these fabulous colors, Michele! Your first card with those peachy blooms is my fave, but I really do love all three! I think I may need to create a wishlist at TSM...I've fallen in love with so many of their products after visiting your blog :)

  4. Me thinks me likes your new inks! Those salmon pinks are so pretty with the Citrine green... both versions! Your moody version is quite striking with your fabulous layers. Marvelous work once again!

  5. Beautiful colors and cards! Dawn McVey really likes those inks. I have about 40 each of the Distress inks/Oxides, the Concord & 9 cubes and decades old Hero Arts shadow inks. CP inks have intrigued me as well as the Stamp Markets. We hit 112 on Sunday and 116 on Monday, both records for Portland. It fried a lot of leaves and berries in our area.

  6. Oh boy, these are gorgeous cards. You've got a wonderful selection here, Michele and look at the moods you can create. I haven't really bought inks in forever, I have what used to be a full set of CTMH colors that still stamp, so I use those. Maybe someday. Meantime here you are creating these beautiful cards with your inks and stamps. Wow! The weather sure has been crazy lately. I feel so bad for those suffering with the heat and humidity!

  9. That stencil is a fabulous one and I am loving it on these cards. Love too, that you don't waste any ink, your second helping of the stencil left over ink looks so cool! Those flowers in those inks are just stunning. Those inks are so pretty for sure. Your "moody" card is equally stunning! Loving those colors together. You got to love a good navy color! These colors are so beautiful together. Beautiful card my friend! Hugs, Brenda

  10. Beautiful cards! Love that you spritzed for another background. I have the full set of CP inks but also have several of TSM, including that awesome navy.

  11. Love both these cards, you definitely do have a knack with colour. Perhaps the secret is the inks you use, but how many different makes of die ink can a girl have in her stash I wonder? I really ought to remember to use up the ink on my stencils as you suggest, I never think of it at the time though. Congrats on your win at CAS Mix Up, it will be so nice to have you join us again as a guest designer xx

  12. All 3 are absolutely BEAUTIFUL Michele, and while I agree that the new inks stamp fabulously, I think it's the stamper that makes these cards just SHINE!! So glad to see you're getting a lot of use from that Greetery stencil...and I just LOVE what you did with the excess ink on the 2nd card!! Your 3rd card is so dramatic and I'm loving every.single.inch of it!! Lovely, lovely cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

  13. Three words...THESE ARE HAWT. In a good way, not like the boiler in the PNW. The colors are so rich and gorgeous. Didn't think I needed Jade, but I do now. You're right about Citrine...makes my heart smile. Anyway, beautifully done, my creative friend.

  14. I'm glad you haven't abandoned CP inks, Michele, since I just bought a couple of sets of minis to add to my full size I left at home. I love how you've used your new colors on these cards. Such stunners both of them.
