Concord & 9th Feature Friday

I'm so happy to be joining Concord & 9th for the next four weeks, as one of their Feature Friday gals ... you are going to be overjoyed with their release this month!

Everything old is new again these days, right?  From fashion to hair styles... even LP vinyl records!  I drove my 1992 Camry 220,000 miles, and the thing I miss about it most?  The CD player!  I asked the young man who bought it if he'd like to choose a few CDs as my gift-with-purchase - he asked "what's a CD?"  ugh.

Enter the new C&9th Mixed Tape set... fun, retro, and like totally fantastic!

Of course there is a fun set of  coordinating dies,
to create your own CDs!

I had a blast with these sets... ready to see?

A bit of stamping on acetate with Stazon ink did the trick for my CD case.   Here's a close-up of the wonderful embossed detailing of the die:

These label-tape-style sentiments are fantastic, aren't they?  One could easily snip them apart to rearrange the words!

I even managed to use those musical notes, and fun phrase die as the star of the show!  On a diagonal:

Even easier - straight up - they certainly do rock!

So happy you stopped by today!  Thanks so much, Angie, for inviting me to play cards with your fabulous May release!

Don't forget, I'm only one of the Featured Friday gals... see who else is being featured at the Concord & 9th blog here!  and I'll be back next Friday!

  5. Michele what a fabulous collection of cards. Whenever I see a tape these days it reminds me of a post on Facebook with the Tape and a pencil and saying how many people know why this goes with that, which all us oldies always get straight away.

Love the style of all the cards and colours used. You rock babe.

  6. CONGRATS on your well-deserved Feature Friday spot with C&9th, Michele! I love how you played with the cassette die and those fabulous musical notes...really fun designs and bold colors! I also love your repeat sentiment with the gorgeous pink plaid papers...it's just perfect, my friend!

When I saw the cassette player in this set I thought about how my 62' VW Beetle couldn't support the electronics, so I used a portable CD player and hung it on my glove compartment...hey, a girl has to listen to Joni Mitchell on her way to work, right?

I'm really looking forward to seeing what you create with the new goodies over the next few weeks...you've showcased everything beautifully, so far!!! Crafty Hugs, Barb ♥

  9. Ooooh Congratulations on the Friday Feature, Michele! So happy for you. Oh my...CDs are not a thing anymore? I just got three the other day. Did you ever listen to the Stray Cats? (Stray Cat Strut is running through my head right now) If that buyer had seen this stamp set, he for sure would have wondered what the heck the cassette was, huh? Your cards are fabulous! You rocked this feature for sure! Using the acetate is so clever. The music notes would thrill my girls and you need to send yourself the pink one! ;) Hugs and happy, happy Mother's Day to you!

  12. No. You rock, Michele. Rocking and rolling with these wonderful blasts from the past. I recently donated all my cassette tapes and then saw a device to record them to CDs. Now I wish I had some of them back. Congrats on your Feature Friday debut.

  13. Congrats on your GD spot! And what a wonderful selection of cards you have created! This set is so very cool and brings back lots of memories of making mix tapes - especially trying to record off the radio and start and stop the recording at just the right time to avoid the DJ's voice :)

  15. Yay you!!! Congrats on guesting this month, totally deserved my sweet friend! Your cassette card is fantabulous! And in the words of your second card...you rock! Every time I see a cassette that has started to unravel, I think of Joe being a toddler and completely unraveling one of daddy's favorite tapes ~ GASP!! I hid it in a coat pocket until I could use a pencil to wind it back in LOL!!!
