I had my card all made for my weekly deposit into the Freshly Made Sketches challenge, but an adventure took priority!
If the eclipse wasn't 'your thing' I won't be offended if you just skip on by my blog today! While I wasn't really happy about another 7-hour car ride, I wouldn't have missed this adventure with my husband for the world!
Here is the beginning, middle, almost the end, and totality taken with my Canon Coolpix P900 and a filter that Tom fitted onto my lens...
This photo of the totality is completely unedited! While the 'corona' isn't as
fantastic as those taken by Tom - I was very happy with it and to see
those solar flares around the edges!!
And just to thank you for sticking around, here's that card - quite appropriate for our day together, don't you think?
I wondered if you and Tom would take a "trip" yesterday, and oh my gosh Michele...your photos are GORGEOUS! It must have been a pretty humbling experience to see that in person!! I'm sure Tom has fabulous photos too, but seriously, yours are wonderful! And your card is a perfect addition with the perfect sentiment! Wonderful post my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing those photos, they are amazing! I had read about the solar flares, but seeing them in the picture really made them even more outstanding! The card is pretty fab too! ♥
ReplyDeleteA fabulous card - love the design and simple colour palette. And what amazing pics of the eclipse. We missed out here in my part of the UK, so it's great to see your pictures. Jo x
ReplyDeleteSeriously awesome photos!! Once in a lifetime :)
ReplyDeleteAck, your photos are fantastic! Thank you for sharing. These things of nature and the universe awe me. When I'm out in it I feel petty stresses melt away. We took our lawn chairs down to the corner of our block and watched the 2017 eclipse. We were pretty close to seeing totality here and it was amazing. Nice finish with your pretty card that expresses your sentiments exactly!
ReplyDeleteWow, amazingly beautiful, nothing to brag about here, sigh, it just got slightly darker, windy and cooler and I didn't have the glasses. I'm curious, where did you go to see it, Indy? Your card is beautiful and a perfect addition to your adventure!!
ReplyDeleteWow, your phots are amazing well done. Love that card too. What an excellent way to use that postage die and I love the little black touches xx
ReplyDeleteHow awesome you and Tom saw the total eclipse! We had 80% here and since I didn't have the glasses or a projector on hand, I kept check out the window. I'm glad I did because the light was fantastic and something I never noticed when concentrating on the projector gizmo! Love your sunny card too! It's very appropriate!
ReplyDeleteWhere did you go to see it, Michele? It was right overhead her and we had an eclipse party. My son came down with his wife and daughter and my granddaughter and her two kids were here. I made eclipse cupcakes for the event. It was such a beautiful day weatherwise and we played in the yard while periodically peeking at the sun through our glasses. My son got a couple of photos with his phone but nothing like yours.
ReplyDeleteSo awesome that you and your husband got to share that adventure together!!! And your photos are amazing!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is wonderful that you got to go on an adventure with hubby to see the eclipse - great photos. Love your beautiful card.
ReplyDeleteYes, the perfect card for your adventure! Great pics of the eclipse too! Shawn just showed me what Tom sent him. Looks like it was worth the drive!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos, Michele! Love seeing the eclipse because west coast didn't get a great view, and personally, I was indoors without a window anyway...
ReplyDeleteNow, even more gorgeous, is that card! Love the use of the postage collage, I saw that in the sketch as well but your flower is definitely the cherry on top, AND the sentiment -- awesome!
Amazing pictures and a very pretty card, you spoil us ๐ xxx
ReplyDeleteWow!! You got some fantastic shots! How lucky for you!! Thank you so much for sharing them. What a beautiful card, too. Yep, so glad you two get to have this life adventure together. Look at all the neat things you do! And then you share a few of them with us. :)
ReplyDeleteAwesome photos! In typical Rochester fashion we had sunny skies before and after the eclipse, but total cloud cover during--so much for being on the path of totality!
ReplyDeleteYou did good Girlfriend!!!! Thanks so much for sharing these with those of us who were left out geographically. LOL!
ReplyDeleteSwet card with a perfect sentiment for the day! It was a sight to see for sure!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pics of the eclipse. Mine with my phone camera were not so nice. But wow it was cool just peering at it through the glasses. I think it was my first total eclipse that I was paying attention for. So cool
ReplyDeleteYour sweet card is perfect as well.
Very impressive eclipse photos! ๐งก๐
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely amazing!! Aren't spontaneous adventures the best?!
