Freshly Made Sketches #574

I knew the moment I saw this guy in the sale items at MFT that he was going to make an appearance on my card for Jen B's Freshly Made Sketches #574...

I just love him - and it just so happens that my granddaughters play for the Vikings JV and Varsity basketball teams.  I might have to make another using their team colors!

The deck rail is a split-in-half piece of The Greetery's Scalloped Ribbon die -
and the sky is a full cut of their Pinked Stars Ribbon die!

This gorgeous woodgrain paper is a gift from a far-away friend - thanks, Neha!

I love how this turned out - but if I'd thought a bit quicker, I'd have made him slide back and forth on deck!

  7. There you go being all clever again! I LOVE him! The background combo, the colors, the wooden ship deck, the whole package. I can just imagine what a hoot it would be to have him sliding back and forth on the deck. Of course, you'll have to make more!

  9. Fabulous take on the sketch Michele, your card is so very cool looking! I love how you have colored your Viking guy, but it is the "stripes" from the sketch that I love how you did. Very cool indeed and yes, your Viking would have been so cool if he slide across the deck. LOL You definitely need to use this guy on a card for the granddaughters using their school colors! Hugs, Brenda

  10. I bought that stamp a long time ago for my Viking son and I think I only used it once. I love all the details on your card and how you colored him, Michele. I need more practice with my alcohol markers and then I'll get him out. Eric's birthday is in March so it would be perfect.

  15. Well, I got busy for few days and seem to have missed such a lot. Now on catch up mode. Your Viking warrior is a real stunner, what clever use of the sketch. The starry panel is such a great addition. I think it would have been quite a challenge to get hime to move along the panel, it would have been for me anyway, but you are way cleverer than me xx

  18. Oh wow, this is such a striking and bold card! I've got this viking (just because he is a Birdie Brown design) but have never stamped him. This is great inspiration.
