Happy Saturday, my friends! I have a card for Color Hues #58: Lime Green and Cyan! [Tracey's getting all tricky with that Cyan, right?]
Since I help my color-deficient husband out a little with editing his astro-photos I'm familiar with our old friend Cyan ... here's a little look at the many shades of Cyan...
I had just returned from the mailbox with my newest edition of embossing folder from my Spellbinders Club - no time like the present to put it to use! I swiped one side of it with a pale form of Cyan [CP mint to be] and ran it through my Big Shot.
I just knew I had a stamp much like the Hydrangeas in this embossing - sure enough, enter MFT's Fall Flowers! Stamped and die cut three times for a full bouquet and then arranged on another oldie from Paper Smooches cut from a perfect match to that Cyan on the right - this one from The Stamp Market variety pack.
There's my favorite label again - and a birthday sentiment from Altenew's Fresh Freesia.
Here are all the inks that came together to create my shades of Cyan and Lime!
Another old meets new card - that makes my heart happy! Speaking of - hope you have a happy weekend, my friends! Thanks for hanging out with me this week!

ReplyDeleteA beautiful entry for sure. The embossing folder looks to be another winner from Spellbinders. The PS frame is a terrific addition and your flowers are so sweet. Wonderful birthday card! Speaking of PS a little. I went for the first time to a crafty thrift store yesterday and came across a PS set with dies. The robot one! I was tickled pink(cyan?). :)
ReplyDeleteOne would think that the stamp was made to coordinate with this embossing folder. It's a perfect match, and your card is delightful! Love this fresh color palette.
ReplyDeleteAm I the only person on the planet who had no clue what cyan was?!?!? very informative visit ere today and I feel smarter! Your card is gorgeous The embossing folder is fabulous!
ReplyDeleteThere are so many things to love about this card and all of the elements that went into making it. The embossing folder is fantastic and the hydrangea stamp is indeed the perfect match. The colors are beautiful (I can't say that I knew what cyan was). The frame is a fabulous funky touch, and the sentiments from the freesia set are always wonderful.
ReplyDeleteOk, I know I live under a rock, but seriously I had no clue there were so many variations of the color Cyan! The first color is what I thought it was, didn't know it could have some green hues to it too. Love all of the tones you have shown Michele. Then there is your gorgeous card! Wow! I love how you swiped your mat layer before embossing it, need to try this out. You're right, your flowers match this new embossing folder perfectly and I love it. Love that frame as well as the sentiment fonts. A gorgeous card indeed and a great color challenge as well! Hugs, Brenda

ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty hydrangeas card, Michele! Good for you to remember that you have the perfect stamp for the pretty 3D embossing folder. The swiped pale mint color helps the background blend into the focal images and makes the embossed image stand out.
