I'm back today with my final projects as a guest designer for A Colorful Life Designs! I have had such fun - and shared a few ways we can use these wonderful ACLD stencils on our cards!
My last card features that little teaser I mentioned last week: Sea Foam
Here is how I made it the perfect environment for a sleepy seafaring sailor - although how he could sleep through those waves is beyond me:
starburst sentiment strip dies, plus Stitched Scallops - no longer available.
This time, I purposely inked up the stencil on my glass mat, spritzed it with
water and flipped it over on an A2 panel of Neenah 110# cardstock.
Okay, yes, it did warp - but I knew I would be sending it through my die-cutting
machine after it dried to cut the waves - flattened it out nicely!
ONE more!
Oh Happy Day is a sentiment from The Stamp Market.
A sprinkle of Martha S. punched butterflies, and the centers of my
groovy flowers are leftovers from an old Dotted die from MFT.
This Groovy Flower Mask brought me right back to the 70's!
Who remembers avocado green? My panel was stenciled in a traditional way,
using Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks - keeping the center a little less intense. Then my micron pen went to work, again, to bring out the groovy-ness!
A splash of black splats, and die-cut with a stitched rectangle, and
it was a happy card completed!
Thank you, A Colorful Life Designs! and my friend Amy for inviting me
to delve more deeply into the wonderful world of stencils!
I had a blast!

An ADORABLE and a groovy card all in one post...what's not to love?!! I'm not sure how that cute little bunny could sleep with all that wave action either, but he sure looks content amidst those rolling stenciled waves! Too CUTE Michele!! And you definitely got your groove on with the 2nd card...reminds me of a pair of bell bottom pants I used to have! Yes, I know...I'm dating myself! Seriously awesome card though, and I happen to LOVE the olive green color! Great use of those stencils my friend....you did an AWESOME job!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteAww that ship card is so darling and your groovy daisies take me back to well earlier times. lol.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing all the stencil techniques. Both cards are great, but the first one is extra special. Love the sentiment too xx
ReplyDeleteSweet tired bunny looks exhausted from all his/her trials, resting against all that lovely stenciled and diecut background. But that second card...reminds me of some wallpaper and a refrigerator I once saw (and probably owned) in the 60s. On a card it's great, no so much on four walls. You've really been an excellent Guest Designer for ACLD...I'm sure they appreciate it.
ReplyDeleteBoth of these are so pretty, sad to see your ACLD guest design come to an end!
ReplyDeleteHow cute is that little floating bunny, you have totally rocked your GD Gig Michele!
ReplyDeleteLove those gentle waves that have lulled this rabbit to sleep! Wonderful job of stencil monoprint! The second card does take me back to the 70s! Bright and happy!
ReplyDeleteOh my golly gumdrops... that little fella snoozing in his boat is PRECIOUS! Put him on my list ;) Two incredible cards, my friend. You've been an amazing guest designer and showcased those stencils to perfection!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat scene. I wonder what his dreams will reveal after he wakes up. I really like how you created the waves. The colors in the card are terrific. The happy day card is wonderfully groovy. Perfect color for the stenciling and the addition of your pen is spot on. Love the black, too. You really helped showcase stencils in fun ways, Michele! Thanks so much for sharing. Crafty hugs!
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet little sailor floating on the briny sea, Michele. Groovy is the right word for the flower card. I love the black outlines. I need to try that.
ReplyDeleteOMGoodness, that little sleeping sailor is just too cute! I love your "sea" you got from the water spritzed ink on your glass mat and the die is just perfect for making the waves. You are such a clever girl! The Groovy card is just that! Very groovy! lol I love that stencil and I've always loved olive green Peeled paint gave you a beautiful colored background and I always love when your micron pen comes out for a play, the daisies look amazing. The bigger sentiment in the center is perfect and how can one not love the little butterflies fluttering about?! The black splatters finish this card off perfectly...certainly one of my favorites...but then again...how does one choose from your gorgeous cards?!!! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteCall my day complete after seeing your adorable bunny rocked to sleep in the little rowboat. Such a beautiful background and a fun design with the waves on a slant. Cleverness abounds! And then we have a bold and awesome retro design and, yes, I remember this green from 70's decor. I still like it in stamping!
ReplyDeleteI still love advocado green just not as a bathroom suite Lol! Fabulous cards sweetie
