Leslie! you've chosen the most wonderful challenge for September 2021! I agree, the colors in Fall are the most wonderful colors of all!
I found the perfect flowers to water color for your challenge:
Altenew Fashion Monger Dahlias - yes, they are real! I found a beautiful representative of this variety of Dahlia on the interweb ...
... and then, had my way
with them using a few Autumn colors, compliments of Distress inks...
Inks:
Blooms: Fired Brick, Spiced Marmalade, Wilted Violet, Mustard Seed
Leaves: Crushed Olive, and Forest Moss
Shadow wash: Pumice Stone
I stamped this image onto this scrap of Neenah Solar white cardstock - I liked it just the way it was so I just mounted it onto a kraft card base!
Have a happy Saturday, my friends. Thanks for sharing a bit of your weekend with me. Now off I go to deliver my card to the CAS Mix Up Challenge! Thanks, Leslie - you made it fun, and colorful!

ps I have been staying off my computer for a bit - pinched something in my neck, which has made typing quite painful - crafting impossible! So glad I got this card made, and photographed before! Thank you to all who have been so kind to leave me some love in the comments! If I don't respond, this is why - my apologies!
Well these are just plain ol' gorgeous! I like the angled piece letting that wonderful texture show just a bit more. Hope you feel better soon XO
ReplyDeleteOh no. Hope this malady doesn't last too long and you can get whatever it is worked out permanently. Total understand how it can curtail any kind of computer or crafting. Rest easy, my friend. Get better.
ReplyDeleteHappy to see that you were able to make this stunning card. The colors are simply fabulous against that textured cardbase. Thanks for joining us this month at CAS Mix Up.
This is fabulous, and I love that you left in 'on an angle' - looks so stylish, Jo x
ReplyDeleteOf course you used a scrap of paper and had it come out like this. Absolutely STUNNING!
ReplyDeleteMichele, I'm so glad you showcased these beautiful dahlias for your watercolored fall card! Heck, I've got all kinds of flowers blooming and they'll continue into November. Now you're reminding me of all the wild Asters that bloom here in early fall. Those dahlias in real and on your card are gorgeous! Love your layout that just happened, too. I'm so sorry about your pinched nerve/neck thing. We used to call it "the dread neck thing" at work because it was so common among us between cradling the phone and using the computer, you know. I hope you're better soon. Thanks so much for playing along with us at CAS Mix Up!
ReplyDeleteStunning design, Michele. Its is so case-able.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely wonderful my friend!
ReplyDeleteGlorious 'real' flowers and one eye catching and stunning card. The colours look amazing Michele x.
ReplyDeleteOhhhh that sounds painful Michele in your neck. Take it easy and look after yourself. Sending hugs x.
This is a beautiful card, Michele. You are so good at adding your touch, in this case, the angled cut to maximize the beauty of your card. The flowers are gorgeous! I am so very sorry to hear of your painful issue. My sincere hope is that you get it worked out very soon and will be painfree. Gentle hugs to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWow! These flowers are gorgeous, Michele, both the real ones and your stamped and colored ones! I love the angle of the cut and the subtle embossed kraft background that show the blooms off so beautifully! Hope you feel better soon. Take care and if it hurts, don't do it.
ReplyDeleteWOW!!!!! Absolutely GORGEOUS card Michele...the colors and detail are fabulous!! Loving the angle cut too...don't you just love happy accidents?!!! And so sorry to hear about the pinched nerve in your neck...been there, done that, so I know it's definitely no fun! Take care my friend, and hope the pinch lets loose real soon!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteI do love dahlias and these are stunning, fabulous colours. I love your background shading and how it fades out at the top, very clever. I love how you left the card that unusual shape, it works so well with the lovely textured kraft card behind. Excellent. xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous autumn coloring on those dahlias, Michele. So sorry about your pain in the neck, which it literally and figuratively is. I hope you get some relief from it.
ReplyDeleteOh Michele, the neck can be miserable, pinched, stiff-all hurts! You rest and no worries about not commenting or answering anyone!!! Now, on to your card. Wow, wow, wow!!!! First off the flower photo is stunning, but then I get to your card and (why am I surprised I don't know) it is stunning!!!Those blooms look just like the ones in the photo, you have colored them perfectly! I love the wash of color in the background, the wood look card base and the sentiment which is perfect as well. Absolutely stunning! Hugs, Brenda
