a REAL Play date with Marcia!

It has been 14 months since I've had the pleasure of crafting [for reals] with a friend!  14 long. lonely. months!!  Let alone the countless months of not having physical contact with another human being - Tom's hugs are wonderful, but you get my point, right?

Both of those things came to fruition last week, when I had the extreme pleasure of welcoming with open arms Marcia Hill to my home!  I'm not gonna lie - that was one of the best hugs, you'll understand when I say it brought tears to my eyes!

Marcia and I are both big fans of PinkFresh Studio products - my 'ask' was that she bring her newest goodies.  You'll run by her blog: Marcia's Stampin' Pad to see what she did with the fastest three hours ever spent together, won't you!

We played together and had real fun with one of Marcia's stencils: Layered Sunburst!  OH goodness, it's such a treat to see how even our blending can be a style all our own!  Really good to know there isn't a right, or wrong way, either!

Here is the card I made with my Sunburst, my friend - YOU are my idea of a Super Hero!  I'll share the closeup first - man, I wish someone would color my hair like this for one day!

Here are the Distress Oxides we shared.

I have to tell you, friends, that these layering stencils from PinkFresh are addictive - both to buy, and to use!!!  Here's another set I borrowed:  Seamless Floral Panel.  I made two cards with this one - one an A2, and one mini-slimline:

Found a friendly W&W  hello in my snippets bin - already this fun hounds-tooth,
all I had to do was blend a bit of the inks to welcome it to my card!

Oxides:

One more for today - wink!

Finding a fun way to add my blended panel to my card was easy with a very old MFT blueprint set and this fun little die that cuts a series of holes.  I hadn't thought of this old variegated twine prior to choosing my colors, but they couldn't have matched better!  The scalloped/stitched edge was cut with another PF die... Classic Edgers .

Using all these ink colors was so much fun - and something I don't do often.  Thank you, Marcia - I can't wait to see you again soon!  BTW friends, we both wished you ALL could have shared that day with us!

Oh my goodness Michele...I'm absolutely in LOVE with all 3 of your cards!! First off though, let me say that the "hug" was the biggest highlight for me too...we were made for friendships and friends are definitely one of God's sweetest gifts! I felt truly blessed last week!! And now...your super hero with the COOL hair is just the best!! What a perfect image to add to that sunburst, and beautifully colored too I might add!! I am totally in love with both your Seamless Floral cards too...the colors, the decorative edge on the 2nd card and the "hello" too, the stitching at the top of your slimline card and that FABULOUS sentiment, and the scalloped edges...they all make both these cards masterpieces! I'm so glad you had fun playing with all the PFS goodies...they are SO addictive, aren't they?!! I can hardly wait for our next playdate my friend...the sooner the better!!!!! Hugs. :0)

Couldn't agree with you more about Pink Fresh products...fun and addictive. After not having a playdate for so long, I'm surprised you got anything done but, obviously, I was wrong. Just look at these cards...love your color choices and ability to use what you already have to make them look so modern. You are brilliant. Now I'm off to see Marcia's goodness.

How fabulous to eventually get this time together. I sure know you would have laughed, chatted and hugged x. Yes I can understand that 'hugging' brought a tear to your eye x.
WOW what an amazing Friend card with fabulous sunburst blending and yes 'great' hair x. The floral stencilling on the Hello card is beautiful and so eye catching and what a meaningful sentiment on the last fabulous slimline card Michele x. 'Sharing' on the day, in spirit Michele x.

One can see the joy of crafting together in your cards Michele. Your super friend burst is amazing, as are the floral cards. So glad you had a good time together.

Looks like that play date was a huge success! Marcia has always been one of my stamping heroes....her style is beautiful! And yours is too, OF COURSE! These are amazing, and so glad you got to stamp and create together!

Absolutely gorgeous cards! That MFT super hero is one of my favorite stamps! And I'm putting that stencil on my PFS wish list. I'm getting together with friends to stamp on Sunday--16 months for us, too. If it goes as it usually does, there'll be more talking than creating, but I'm sure to come home with new stamped images and die cuts to play with!

Michele, I am so very happy for you and your friend being able to get together again and play! That had to have lifted your heart so much. I'm sure it was the longest and sweetest hug in a long time. So very happy for you. The joy you felt surely has translated into your cards because they exude so much happiness and joy to me. The first superhero card is spectacular! I love all the colors and how amazing it looks. Your floral cards are quite simply beautiful. So very pretty. Thank you so very much for sharing. Crafty hugs!

I don't know what I'm more pleased with, your cards or the fact that you got to spend time crafting with Marcia. Wonderful all around!! Your cards are delightful and I love the amazing friend card with the dynamic background and her colored hair. The floral cards are stunning! I love the colors on the first card and think I "need" those stencils now. So happy for you and Marcia that you got to have some crafty friend time.

I wish I could have shared the day with you too, Michele! It looks like you both had lots of fun and brilliant creativity! Love that sunburst with the bright colors and Supergirl does have a fantastic hairstyle! The flowers are so pretty! I need to check out those layering stencils. I'm glad you could spend the day together and hopefully can again soon.

I so wish I could have been there too, Michele. I don't have much PF but those stencils do intrigue me. What a quick and easy was to make a beautiful card, or cards in your case. The colors choices are cheerful and I see you snuck gray into the second card. ;) Love that edger die on the first one.

You lucky thing, we still can't do that even if we have been vaccinated, I am so glad you enjoyed it and your resulting cards are just fabulous. they are all so joyful. I think the middle one is my favourite, but I also love the stitched detail on the last one and that hair on the first xx

I can't even begin to imagine what it's been like for you guys.... my life has changed very little, even last year in the 'midst' of it all I was still going to work every day (though just with a little higher level of stress lol). The only thing that felt different for me was that we had less visitors. But we have truly been a very lucky country and crossed fingers it stays that way, our problem now is that people aren't getting vaccinated because the media has scared them with the risk of side effects which is very rare, I feel for the people who can't be vaccinated as they are still not able to go anywhere, but for most of us it's been life as normal for months now. So big virtual hugs to you my friend and I am thinking of you all. ps PinkFresh and you are the perfect combination!

LOVE these amazing cards, but I am even happier knowing that you and Marcia actually crafted together. How wonderful that must have been! The stencils look amazing in the colors you've chosen! The slimline flowers card, especially.

I have been lucky to have a crafty friend visit down the shore several times through the pandemic. Sandy was in part of our small cohort. Even though our crafts are different, they overlap and it was such a joy to have someone to play with. How wonderful for you and Marcia! Your cards are killer fabulous. SHOCKER! Your rainbow superhero is just awesome! And yes, the hair! Love it! The floral cards are gorgeous - the colors you used are so wonderful together. The treatment with the twine on the third is my favorite detail. Beautiful cards, wonderful inspiration, and I am so glad you had the chance to play with a friend in person.

Sounds like you and Marcia had lots of fun and creative time together, Michele! I'm so happy for both of you! I love the lovely Supergirl's hair as much as the rainbow sunburst!
The stenciled flowers are so pretty and the colors of the variegated twine matches those of the flowers. Great choice!

These are all so beautiful but more importantly I'm so glad you got to spend time with another crafter in real life. Here in NZ, we tend to take for granted that we can move around at will but I am very conscious that so many people's lives around the world have been severely changed by this pandemic.
