Happy weekend eve! I woke to a bright, fresh, white 5" blanket of that four letter word this morning! I really needed something to brighten my attitude - flowers it is!
The Flower Challenge team is asking us to use our latest stamps or dies for challenge #53 - no problem, that new layering die from Altenew wanted a bit more attention! Thanks, TFC!
I have been pushing myself to use more color and made a discovery about colored cardstocks ... these lovelies are from MFT...I really hate to waste one teensy bit of it. You'll see evidence of that here. Reminds me of a pocket square - Bond, James Bond style. He left just enough space for a showing of my fave Dotted Swirls debossing plate.
Thanks for stopping by ... hope you all are having much better weather where you live! I'll see again soon - gosh it feels good to type that!

Love the gray and white and the pocket squares. This is a fabulous card. stay warm.
ReplyDeleteWhat a clever way to use those little bits of leftover cardstock, Michele! A perfect balance for the gorgeous flower!
ReplyDeleteThose are pretty colors and they make one very pretty flower! I sure hope that four letter word doesn't make it to my neck of the woods. It's windy though, so I fear it could be blowing my way!
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun layout, but that flower...wowza! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteYou've certainly succeeded with your personal color challenge on this card. The diecut bloom is perfectly arranged, you've extended the color with your "pocket squares" and added the ideal amount of texture with the gorgeous embossing plate. Makes for an outstanding card.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful card Michelle, that flower is so pretty and I love the texture on the background. Miss you!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous flower and wonderful artistic design, Michele! I love your "pocket squares". We had over a foot of snow fall yesterday, but what I don't like is the 9 degree temperature today to go with it!
ReplyDeleteAnother beautiful card, Michele, Jo x
ReplyDeleteMichele, this is beautiful! Love your layout and love those little pieces of colour peaking out the side. Gorgeous colours!
ReplyDeleteI love that layout! Beautiful flower - looks fabulous against the "snowy" background! We had a few more inches this morning....and more coming Sunday! But there is more sunshine every single day! (I know....baby steps)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!! :)
ReplyDeleteNope, the weather sucks here too, but your card definitely SHINES Michele! Love the colors and what a perfect way to not waste any of that gorgeous color by adding the cardstock scraps like you did...love it!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteWell, if there is one good thing about lots of the white stuff is that you have every excuse to hole up in your crafty space and create! Yay! :) And you created a stunner, that is for sure. Wow! Love the colors you chose and the design. The debossing plate adds just the right touch to make the piece even more striking. Thanks so much for sharing. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card and I’m really loving your pocket squares.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! Gorgeous flower, cp and perfect pocket squares! This is so gorgeous -- wonderful colors, Michele
ReplyDeleteSnow coming for us tonight as well Michele, in the overnight hours into tomorrow. They are calling for 3 to 6 inches, I'm hoping for more like three. lol This card is stunning! I love the colors you chose for this stunning bloom. These look like so much fun to make. I love that debossed background too, I so need me a couple of them, but not sure I could do them justice. lol I also love that you used your little "pocket squares" along the side like that, really draws the eye in! Your brilliant! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWell we have the lovely white stuff and the cold here too. Your card brightened my day. Love the colors! Thanks.
ReplyDeleteWhat a unique and wonderful design you thought of, using the little pieces of the cardstock, Michele! I love this card (and I LOVE James Bond, Daniel Craig, too)!
ReplyDeleteThe gray Dotted Swirls debossed background is showing off the layered die-cut poppy so elegantly.

ReplyDeleteSwoonworthy my friend!
ReplyDeleteThis is so gorgeous - you sure have a way with those flower dies... and the pocket square treatment... there's that brain again that I love so much... those little touches slay me. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteI'm smitten with this design... Love it!
ReplyDeleteWOW!! Michele, you definitely know how to work with these types of dies, all those little pieces have to be precisely placed to for the flower and you did an amazing job with this one, it's gorgeous. Love the pierced background and the detail of those corners peeking out with the flower's colors is an amazing detail.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for sharing your beautiful card with us at THE FLOWER CHALLENGE, we hope you play again next time.
Stay healthy and safe.
Hugs.
