Welcome to the January 2021 edition of Playing Cards with Friends! I'm delighted to have one of the sweetest gals in blogland join me today - Coni Longley of Which Craft!
Coni has a wicked fun sense of humor - my kind of gal! We have such awesome phone-chats, when we talk about anything, and everything - including cards on occasion! Her birthday is this month, too - so here are the parameters I put in place for our card-playing session:
·
Altenew
Craft-a-flower Tulip dies
·
cut
from paper that has been smooshed with any colors of Distress Oxide inks
· Birthday card – in honor of your special day!
My card started with these Distress Oxides:
After drying, I strategically placed all my dies onto it, and ran it through my die-cutting machine.
I just so happen to have a lovely new debossing plate from Altenew, so
I couldn't help but plant my tulips there!
Here is my card, Coni!! Can't wait to see yours!!
Thanks so very much for Playing Cards with me, Coni!! Love, and hugs!
and thanks to all of YOU for stopping by today! Now let's go see Coni's card, shall we?

What a fun idea and you sure looked like you had fun x. What a beautiful card and the smooshing looks amazing Michele x. The debossed plate looks fabulous too for those pretty tulips to sit on x.
How cute are those birds... But not enough to distract me from your fabulous card! Love it!
thanks for your reaction on my blog.
lovely card you made with that beautiful tulip
Dang!!! I wish I could make cards like you. This one is simply gorgeous. All that delicate smooshing leaving white areas adds so much to the final result. The background really pops, the perfect base for this is delicate tulip. I'm glad you like my card, too, but probably not as much as I LOVE this one.
Looks fabulous, Michele, Jo x
Gorgeous tulip, Michele! I love how well the ink on the layered die cuts blend together! Such a lovely card for a lovely friend!

Love your game! Your card is absolutely gorgeous, and there is that debossing plate. Your tulips look so gorgeous placed on it. I love the colors you chose, and your sentiment is absolutely perfect. Love, love, love.
Wow, wow, wow! Your card is gorgeous Michele! Love that you had a fun playdate with Coni! Your inky background and those dies made for one gorgeous card! And that background, I am really loving how these backgrounds look, a different look from traditional embossing. Hugs, Brenda
Oh, there's another one of those amazing debossing dies, it looks fabulous behind that tulip. I am just about to embark on making my daughters 40th birthday card and thought I would start by smooshing my card so thanks for the tips. Looking forward to seeing Coni's card xx
Beautifully done. And I am loving that pierced piece!
Beautiful smooshing, my friend! Love these colors and the patterns that work so perfectly for this tulip! Another gorgeous background too.
Beautiful card Michele!

It is gorgeous, Michele! Smooshed perfection! I really enjoyed reading (and seeing) how it all came together.
Kudos on smooshing for a winning bouquet of tulips! Love that background too. It's good to see your creativity again after the holiday break.
Wow, wow, wow! Gorgeous! Love the colors and that fabulous cp -- perfect card for your friend
Oh how fun that you were able to play cards!! I want to do that again! I love that beautiful tulip!! I have those dies but have not played with them yet!!
Okay the next time I use my tulip dies I'm going to smoosh. This is so fabulous, Michele, and I am coveting that coverplate.
I'm glad to hear Coni has a great sense of humour as I've been calling her Conil for ever!! Love this 'playing with friends' idea as it has always fascinated me how the same craft supplies can turn up such different ideas in different crafty hands. Your smooshed tulips are wonderful and I should let you know that you are single-handedly responsible for these debossing plates being on my wish list!! Right, off to visit Coni(l)! Vicky x
Oh...Em...Gee! Your smooshed panel is fabulous and I love how it works with the blooms, Michele! Placing it on that gorgeous debossed background really takes this card right over the top, my friend! Coni is one lucky girl to have this beauty to display in her home! xx
Gorgeous die-cut tulips, Michele! What a wonderful and organic way to color the die-cuts! The colors and the visual texture are simply amazing! The debossed pattern adds so much interest to the background and the shine from the clear sequins is so pretty!
Hideko xx
