Hi, my name is Michele, and I am NOT a pumpkin spice fan ... there, I've admitted it! Leave the pumpkin spice where it belongs: pie, and muffins, and okay maybe breads, please! Oh don't even go near my coffee with the stuff!
Now that I have all of that off of my chest ... I'm LOving the pumpkin spice colors in our IB145 inspiration photo ... we hope you will love it, too!
It was easy! All I did was stamp the plaid from the Plaid Maker set onto a piece of cardstock that could then be over-stamped with my little buddy in his home sweet home! Then it was as easy as adding color, and cutting with the coordinating die. The tree branches from our photo are represented by a die from The Stamp Market - called Big Botanicals - cut from a gorgeous wood look paper. Did you catch the gold pillow in the photo? I've represented it, too, with a snippet of already-debossed [lil' inkers - no longer available] paper in my bin! I love when I can use another bit of something from that bin that I can't seem to let go of!
You'll get NO grief from me, Michele! I concur. I don't get the whole coffee thing period, to be honest. It may smell nice, but the taste isn't my favorite in the least. Oh well, you can make mugs looks awesome. I adore what you did with the acorn! So cute. No wonder this little guy had to come home to you. Love the leafy die, too. Looks like you filled it out just a tad. Way to be creative. You shine bright, my friend. :)
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on the coffee, Michele. I love pumpkin spice bread, muffins or pie, but leave my coffee alone. As always, I love how you've interpreted the inspiration photo. You are so good at seeing the little details and putting them together in a gorgeous card! Love, love, love this squirrel and his acorn!
ReplyDeleteI do love pumpkin spice, but not in coffee! In fact, no coffee at all...yuck! Glad I got that off my chest!! But now as for your card...well it is just as sweet as can be Michele!! And why are they so sweet on a card but not in real life! Anyhoo...love all the elements you added to this FAll beauty of a card...totally fits this challenge!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteLove your take on the challenge, Michele!
ReplyDeleteoh my cute, I adore this. All the elements are perfectly perfect.
ReplyDeleteAck, you're killing me here with cuteness! I love EVERYTHING about this, couldn't wait to comment! That little dude has the coolest home ever!
ReplyDeleteNow---pumpkin spice is nice in bread and cookies, but I am not a big fan of it in my coffee either! It smells good but wayyyyy too sweet! I am a black coffee girl! I do love a good pumpkin spice candle, though...to smell, that is, LOL!
So sweet! I’m not a pumpkin fan! But I have used pumpkin spice in my oatmeal cookies!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely no pumpkin spice in this body...cannot abide it...but, I too, love the colors. And you've captured them all, including that squirrel in his fantastic acorn cage. It's like this challenge was made for you.
ReplyDeleteSo sweeeeeet! Love your card, Jo x
ReplyDeleteYep the cards you make for the library challenges are always my faves! This is adorable and then some! And no coffee of any kind for me thank you!
ReplyDeleteI think this little squirrel and the little squirrel from my card would be the best of friends...just like us! This is ever so SWEET!! Put this little fella on the Lisa list!
ReplyDeleteI saw this card, without seeing your name above it, and thought straight-away it had to be yours, Michele. The neutrals, the sweet animal, the foliage all seem to be your trademarks. Thanks so much for sharing your art!
ReplyDeleteYour cute squirrel is the perfect match for the book cover! Lots of great details and I love like it looks like little berries hiding under the leaves.
ReplyDeleteThanks for joining The Library.
WOW - what a stunning and brave admission! Since you went out on a limb...I will also admit that I only partake of pumpkin spice in pie and other baked goods, too! : ) That being said, your take on the theme with that name turned out perfectly! He's so cute in his little gray plaid house and the die cut vine is the cream on my PLAIN latte! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteHugs - Rachelle : )
I'm not a big fan of pumpkin spice either, but I LOVE the color and how you added stitching to the square panel! Where did you find the 'wood look' paper? WOW! The texture and dimension are amazing, and your branch is such a great contrast to the soft gray plaid! You are amazing, my friend!!!
ReplyDeleteIf only squirrels would keep to the acorns and stay out of the bird feeder! He is a cutie though and your card captures the inspiration photo to a T.
ReplyDeleteThis colour combo is fabulous Michele, I've had a hankering for Autumn tones and that is not like me at all (especially as we are in Spring right now lol)! AND that plaid acorn is TDF!
ReplyDeleteI can see why this little guy had to come live at your house, Michele ... he's adorable ... and of course the little scene you set him into is just delicious (as opposed to pumpkin spice)! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteNever even had pumpkin spice in anything! Definitely would not fancy it in coffee. But I do so fancy this card, oh my that is just so adorable!!
ReplyDeleteSuper cute 'pumpkin' themed card and the adorable little buddy looks right at home in his plaid 'nut' house x.
ReplyDeleteThis is darling!! I LOVE that little squirrel and your fun design. Fabulous card!!
ReplyDeleteThis is just the sweetest. I so love that little critter peeking out of his little acorn house. I must say that we have been having "squirrel issues" down the shore, and I am not a big squirrel fan right now... but this little guy is adorable. I am with you on the pumpkin spice, but I do love this card!
