When I took my first look at our IB142 assignment, I saw fish-scales! SO … I found a way to make it work for the sentiment I had in mind - a fun little wish for my eldest granddaughter who is 16 this year!! I don't know how that happened so fast? For Anna:
Anna could be a Mermaid with the swimming skills she has!
Though the lightest of my fish scales seem white, you'll have to trust me that they are indeed the palest of pinks... Bazzill cardstocks, all: Pale Rose, then Citrus Slice, and Circus Peanut! Each cut with the largest of the dies in the MFT Ocean Motion set. I brought in the black from our inspiration photo with my black heat-embossed sentiment from EBE Inner Mermaid, and the sweet twine that attaches this darling little PPP Square scalloped tag. The curvy shape of my little card was achieved with a Paper Smooches Borders 1 die... aren't we going to miss that wonderful company?
So there you have it … now I do hope you'll play, too! Our IB team have so many more ways to inspire you … and a fun Sketch! You'll find them all HERE!

ReplyDeleteI saw fish scales too... great minds!! The shape of this card blows me away, we need a tutorial. This is awesome and Sweet 16 Anna is going to love it!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a COOL card Michele! Love the colors and all the "scales", but most of all I love the sentiment and the way too cool shape of the card! LOVE it and so will your granddaughter!! (Aren't you kinda young to have a 16 year old granddaughter?!!!) :0)
ReplyDeleteThe only thing better than the colorful scallops is the fun shape of the card, Michele. I'm sure Anna will love it.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'll always miss Paper Smooches but, luckily, I still have some of their products. However, I've never use them as cleverly as you did with this card. Your granddaughter is going to treasure it...especially since she's and aqua-teen. Gorgeous take on the cue...you've really captured the flow.
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet card and fabulous take on the inspiration photo! LOVE your sentiment and color palette, too...I think Anna is going to love this card, Michele!
ReplyDeleteBrilliant Michele! I would have to say it's going to be quite a big mermaid looking at the size of those scales lol.

This card is so amazing and I bet she LOVED it!
ReplyDeleteThey grow up so fast don't they? My eldest granddaughter is 7 but I know soon I am going to wonder how she got to 16 so quickly. This card is really special from the layers, the colours , the sentiment , the tag and the interesting shape and they all come together perfectly xx
ReplyDeleteWow Michele, you took the inspiration photo and ran with it! This card is amazing as is your mind. lol I love that you saw fish scales and for once that is what I saw too. Your card turned out amazing and so perfect for your granddaughter. Yeah, where does time go?!! Bret will be 25 in a few short months! I love the large scallops on this card, I swear this card is so fun and I love the colors. The one color does indeed look like the color of circus peanuts! lol The sentiment in black is perfect for that black touch like in the photo but what I really love is the curves to this card. How fun is that?! I know your granddaughter loved this one! Hugs, Brenda
