I had double the fun with it, and made TWO cards! Why not, right? First I want to show you how I set up my stamp to work with the die I intended to use - enter the brilliance of the MISTI once again …
- I placed my panel into one of the MISTI creative corners, in my original MISTI
- placed the die where it will be cut from the panel
- then lay on the stamp where you'd like it to be within the die cut - I use the line drawing on packaging for that.
- Pick up the stamp with the lid of the MISTI! Now it's set up for inking, and inking again as I've done today, first on water color cardstock, then again on Neenah 110# Solar White
Here is the card that made it over to the CTS#377 blogpost:
… but I have to say, this loose water-coloring style is perfect for coloring on paper that wasn't intended for it!
My MFT Elegant Rectangle die needed a bit of a trim to arrange horizontally … but that was easy to do, with a quick partial cut with the die:
That was a whole lot of information … I'll send you over to the CTS blog to see all the cards my teammates made - you'll love them as much as I do!

Beautiful watercoloring on both cards, Michele! I love that you chose the Elegant Rectangle for your focal point and your gems are darling! Thanks so much for the step-by-step tutorial :)
Never too much information, love seeing/reading your process! These are both fantastic. I think the colors on the second is my favorite! We need to talk about those creative corner doohickeys ;)
Love your two cards using different variations of the sketch challenge. Beautiful watercoloring of your succulent images too. TFS all your step by step details too, Michele. Love and Hugs..Nancy
Both are beautiful! I have never seen that corner doodad for the Misti, it's clever....just like you! Love all the blues!
Spot on take of that sketch Michele! I love both of your cards, they are so pretty. Loving the stamp you used (how do you find the perfect stamps and dies?) and that lovely die which matches so well with the sketch. Your blooms look amazing and I love how you watercolored them. Hugs, Brenda
I adore what you have created here, Michele! SO very pretty and elegant. You always seem to have such fun with these sketches and come up with unique and interesting ways to showcase them. Like you have done here, not once, but twice! Your watercoloring is wonderful and I love that shade of blue in your jewels. Gosh, I have those creative corner things and always forget to take them out. Thanks for showing how you used it! Happy weekend, my talented friend! Hugs!
There you go with those succulents again... Fabulous!!! I adore both cards
With an invitation like that of course I'll come visit. You that you can turned the sketch easily and that you did. Mondo Succulent is still on my list. I am waiting for the mail system to get back on its feet first. I know I'll be able to find lots of inspiration to use it here! Happy weekend! xo
They're beautiful! However did we all manage before the MISTI? Total game changer.
A very clever way to stamp the design perfectly, Michele! Wonderful watercoloring on the watercolor paper and the Neenah!
Look at you! Being all creative and everything! Two beautiful cards, Michele
You are a cactus rocker.... I love these. And I have the MISTI doodads, but never use them. Thanks for showing us this idea...
Both cards are fantastic, Michele! Love that you used the elegant rectangle die for this sketch. Using the partial die-cutting technique and the way you placed the stamp on Misti (using the line drawing on packaging) are so clever!
I love your watercoloring, especially the loose one!
Hideko xx
Always love hearing how your cards evolve, Michele ... what did we do befor MISTI! A lovely duo ... your soft, loose watercolouring is gorgeous! Hugs, Anita :)
Yay to the misti and Yay for sharing this tip Michele x. The die cut shape is perfect for the sketch and so is the succulent stamp x. Both loosely watercoloured cards are glorious x.
