Penny Black Christmas!

I'm not going to lie - this will be a long post!  I'll keep the chatter to a minimum - grab a beverage, and let's get to it!

Penny Black has a new release - yes, of course I shopped!  But before those newest goodies arrive here are a few cards using the LAST few I bought!

First up: Stocking Stuffers!  Following Jill's lead on an older PB&J video, I created lots of water-y colored watercolor cardstock, and die-cutting galore... my favorite first...

These first two using a deckle-edge die set from PTI...

... and this one using that old favorite woodgrain die from Lil' Inkers:

I love the 'felt-like' texture that the water-colored pieces have!

Next up: three cards using the die cuts and a stamped image I brought home with me from Marcia's!

Both feature the lovely PB Double frame - but only one frame was used.

Sentiment: PB Joy & Warmth - background Wplus9 no longer available.

Altenew's Moroccan Tile is in the background.  The tiny sentiments
are from the old RC Triangle Tree set I used recently.
PB re-released this image, but Marcia had the Lily of the Valley gray rubber version!

One more berry die had to be added to my stash - PB Winter Berry Branch ... btw Bonnie made me do it!

I always cut these branches from Canson 140# water card and
often use Distress inks for water coloring - as I did here.
PB's slapstick Music Background stamp was used for the background panel -
stamped in Gathered Twig DOX over a washed/die cut panel.

Well! That wasn't too bad, right?  Hope you don't mind!

  2. Mind? No way! I love to see all the ways your creativity flows. Hey, I might be able to achieve a decent watercolor look if I did what you did on the first few cards. If I had the fun dies you used that is. LOL Seriously though, love when you are inspired and we get to see all the beauties you create!

  4. All of these little beauties lined up made me ooh and aah! The stockings do have a felt look to them and I love them hanging from the branch. That frame works perfectly with the berry branches and the little cutie decorating the tree. The finale has a wonderful elegance to it. Not too bad at all, my friend!! xo

  6. Could have been longer, my friend! Such a delight with those three stockings hanging with care, the pretty berries and sweet little lass trimming the tree. You remind me of that berry branch die that needs to come out and play. I hope you enjoy it as much as I have enjoyed mine.

  7. Lovelovelove, I can't say enough! Penny Black is my weakness but I've resisted the Christmas release because I have so much not yet used Christmas goodies, sigh. These are all wonderful and I can't wait to see what you do next, even though it will make me wish I'd done just that little bit extra shopping.

  11. I need to get busy with my Christmas cards and you've given me some inspiration and incentive, Michele. Every card is a work of art. What I need to know is where is that branch from?
