Hello, my friends! I was very happy to add a few of the new goodies from Penny Black's Round II Christmas release. Here are the products I used for today's cards:
3D Berries Abound embossing folder
3D Berries Abound cutting die
3D Berries Abound coloring stencils
I die-cut these 3D Berries from watercolor cardstock,
then embossed the image before stenciling.
I was happy to get a pretty good monoprint from the leafy stencil layer:
It doesn't make a huge impact, but at least I didn't waste that ink
and I get to play with the wonderful Group of Seven!
This sentiment is one of many from PB's Joy & Warmth set...
here's another...
And my second card was inspired by the view outside my window!
I'm quite sure this is the very first time I've peeled/rolled the edge of my watercolor cardstock as Jill Foster often does - this decision was made AFTER the card was finished - can you imagine how nervous I was??
Before I cleaned up, I just HAD to emboss one in all pure white... doesn't it
look like plasterwork?
My heavy white cardstock was spritzed quite well with water before
embossing. I decided I liked the curve of the warping!
A Betterpress-ed sentiment from my stash, and my playtime came to an end.
But don't worry - there were a few more items in that order! wink.

Wow, beautiful cards. Love the deep texture of the embossing, especially on the all-white card. Glad you were able to get your monoprint from the stenciling as it is lovely too.
ReplyDeleteThese are just STUNNING cards Michele! The ink blending/stenciling is beautiful and I just love the depth & dimension you get from the embossing folder! I even like the curled up edges!! A trio of loveliness my friend!! Hugs. :0)

ReplyDeleteWow - two beautiful designs here Michele - LOVE the deep colors on your first card with the stencil monoprint background - so clever!! And you can really see the depth of the embossing on your white on white! Thanks for sharing with us at Group of 7!! Julia xx
ReplyDeleteI love these sets that emboss the die cuts and the stencils help to keep the colors separate! Three beautiful Christmas card, my friend! The coloring is beautiful but then the all white card is so elegant!
ReplyDeleteThat's a really lovely embossing folder and the matching die and stencils make it extra special. Of course it is your skill in putting it all together into a card that is the really special thing. I love these and the soft inky background is perfect. I would never dare to peel up a corner. I would also think that it would look silly, but it doesn't. It really works xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards made with your new toys from PB, Michele! All of the cards are so beautiful. Thanks for joining us at Group of Seven with your lovely monoprint background. xx

ReplyDeleteI can't wait for my order to arrive and now that I see how beautiful the all white one is, I'm glad I won't have to color! Gorgeous gorgeous examples!
ReplyDeleteI have an older Berry stamp from PB that I've always loved but it doesn't have a stencil. This one is fabulous and you turned it into such a gorgeous cards, Michele.
ReplyDeleteYou'll make me wish I'd ordered... if I didn't already have so much not yet used Christmas stuff, sheesh. Your cards are all so beautiful. Gorgeous rich color on those berries with the warmth of the green. I love the distressing that gives a bit of shabby chic flair. I've always thought the plaster cast look with the 3D dies was way cool and elegant. What a line up, Michele!
