Confession time: I shopped. But in my defense, it was ALL Bonnie's fault! LOL On our drive to her house she mentioned a crafty shop in Lewisville, NC that is a favorite of hers - that's all the recommendation I needed to take a little bit of a detour on our route!
Tara the owner greeted us so warmly and The Enchanted Cottage was just that: enchanting! I picked up a few of the many Penny Black goodies on my very long list - of course, I shared them with Bonnie, and Nance. Which brings me to this post!
Here is my card using this sweet PB Merry Days stamp set and coordinating dies! Their Double Frames add such a fun 'shadow box' effect without the bulk for mailing!
I tried so hard to do a little 'no line' Copic coloring but one look and I
knew it would be so much better with the lines and all the detail I lost
when coloring...
Soooo much better...
The shadow layer of the frame was blended with Blueprint Sketch ink, and
that little scrap of paper in the background was the last of it from PFS.
I snitched an idea of leaving a bit of the die cut outside the frame from Jill Foster's
recent Sketch School on YouTube!

I'm not sorry I told you about the Enchanted Cottage, my friend. If we could have gone together, think of the fun we'd have. Thank you so much for sharing you new goodies. I had so much fun coloring these bears even though I didn't get that wonderful fuzzy feel that you did. Your bears look so huggable and they framing is stunning! Wish we lived closer together.

This duo is just too CUTE Michele, and I can totally see why you HAD to shop!! You've colored them beautifully and while I do like the no line look, I think I prefer the outlines for the added definition! Sweet, sweet card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

There are so few of these shops left anywhere near where I am in this country. So happy for you that you were able to go to this one. And then to share your new stash with Bonnie and Nance! Wish I was along for the ride. These bears are adorable, and yes, the lines are much more effective than no lines! Your coloring is fabulous of course, and those bears are just the cutest and merriest! I love the frame as well!
Your card is adorable but you had me at “crafty shop in NC”. Lol! I just googled it and it’s an hour and fifteen minutes from my son’s and we’re heading back next month. Guess where I may go? Hahaha! You are such an enabler even when it’s not intentional. 😉😀
I would love to shop at a place called The Enchanted Cottage! I don't even know where the closest craft store is to me. I used to love the browsing in real life. Your little bears are adorable either way, Michele. They were looking mighty cute and fuzzy at first, but some stamps just call for the line drawing to show. So sweet and pretty all over!
I love both versions--lined and no line. Such a cheerful image and that double frame is awesome!!
A REAL shop, how wonderful! I haven't been to a papercraft shop in an age... especially one that holds treasures like these! Love your cute little bears, and yes, no-line can be a challenge, but I think both versions look fabulous!
Sweet card Michele. LOVE this adorable image in the double frame ... perfection! I'm with you. I just did the same thing, watercoloured no line with this image and it didn't look as good. LOVE it with the darker lines to define everything. xx
