Is a Quail a bird?

Or will the gals at Triple B cry FOWL??  Ha!  Just kidding - I did my homework and found that Quail are among the bird family, along with Partridge, Turkeys, and Chickens!  I fell in love with this pair from Honey Bee!

The layering/inking guide that comes with this set of Lovely Layers: Quail dies is incredible!  Here are the Oxide inks I worked with today:

I took advantage of a 5x7 card today - it doesn't happen often, but this Spellbinders' embossing folder was so perfect for this scene I wanted to take advantage of all that real estate!  The pine boughs, holly and berries are from Honey Bee's Winter Greenery set.

Hope you're getting your craft on this weekend!  Thanks for stopping by!

  2. This card is magnificent! Your coloring is perfect and the design - with the subtle coloring of the rich embossing folder background - is perfect. The quail is our state bird and I love to see them running across the street with their "family", heads bobbing and feet scurrying. This card has my heart and has made my day!

  8. Oh my goodness, this is a beautiful card. Love your inkblending on the image and especially the background. Your light touch brings it to life. The peek at the dauber storage intrigues me. Where did you find it? Do you have a dauber for every distress ink color? Do tell! :)
