Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #32

I'm happy to have a little crafty time today - the Peace on Earth Christmas challenge #32 had me pulling out a very old set from Papertrey Ink called Winter Woods.  That's where I found this cute little Bluejay!  I did a little second generation stamping with Catherine Pooler's Drive In ink but still felt it wasn't quite right - oh well, there's no mistaking him for any other bird in my Winter woods!

I masked him before adding the branches, then used a blade to cut out his tail so I could
add a little dimensional foam under it.

While searching for this Bluejay, I came across another little bird - this one is a die set also from PTI. [a lovely gift from a friend] Feathered Friends 2 - can be many different birds - today I was thinking Warbler - Blackburnian female maybe?

My friend LeAnne's Paper Players PP624 post this morning helped me find her a wonderful home.

I hope I'm not one layer over the CAS limit - yikes!

I have lots of winter birthdays on my list - hence the snowflakes -
'Just a note' can be the start of any birthday wish in my book!

Hope you've had a bit of crafty time today, too!

  5. I recognize the blue jay for sure, but am impressed that you knew the name of the other sweet bird! Your cards are just lovely. You really have some wonderful stamps and dies to help create beautiful cards. The border on the white mat on the second card is so pretty. So many great details, Michele. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a wonderful day. Crafty hugs!

  10. Both of these cards are FABULOUS Michele! I absolutely LOVE your Bluejay card using the Winter Woods set...I haven't used that stamp set in sooooo long and you've made me remember why I loved it so much! I love how you made the tail stick up a bit and the sentiment embossed on the red cardstock really pops on this lovely, lovely card! Your 2nd card is just as BEAUTIFUL, and I think the snowflakes and Just A Note sentiment are perfect for Winter birthdays too! You outdid yourself with both of these cards my friend!! Hugs. :0)

  11. Love the birds on both cards, and Just a note and thinking of you are the best front sentiments as the inside can say the reason why. Love.

  14. Wow Michele, your Blue Jay card is gorgeous! I love the fun branches with the red berry's against the stark white of your card base. Looks just like it should after a snow fall and your Blue Jay looks great to me, he is standing out against the "snow" and the foliage perfectly just like in real life! I love it!!! I am loving your little gray and yellow bird as well! A another beautiful card, loving the colors of yellow and gray. The is a beautiful border you have on the white too. Both cards are really beautiful my sweet friend! Hugs, Brenda
