CAS Stencil - patterned paper

wait just a minute... did I read that correctly?  stenciling, on patterned paper and CAS in the same sentence?  lol  You CAS Stencil girls really know how to mess with my head - beautifully!

Seriously, Loll... please don't consider my card as a challenge entry - only a play-along for fun... because I know in my head that it isn't CAS enough BUT, I recently won a prize from Poppy Stamps that you stenciling pros might like to see!!  Have you seen their die/stencil combos?  Take a peeky poo at this...

I grabbed a neutral patterned paper from MFT Gray & White - retired - a few distress oxides, and a blending brush and took this set for a test drive!  Even though I smudged over the lines a teensy bit, that stenciling over the die cut was pretty user friendly.  Here's what I created with my first try...

Keeping that die cut hello white, and the sentiment small, may have saved my bacon in the CAS department - I truly wanted the leaves to be the star of the show.

Thanks again for making me stretch, Loll!  xx  Hope you all have a fun weekend planned!

hello die is Mama Elephant - very old
sentiment from Altenew's Leaf Canopy
Distress Oxides:  wild honey, peeled paint, aged mahogany, and fossilized amber.

Thank you, ladies!!
