CAS[E] this RETRO Sketch #284

We're going back in time this week … this fab Sketch #76 by Sam Simpson, is just as fresh today...

Not yet part of the team, but I definitely was playing cards with them … here's my original from May 2014*!!

This might have been a die-cut-kinda-day =]  Here's where I was taken today... with a die cut of the proper shape!

Which do you like better?  Did you play along in May 2014?  If so, we'd love to see your original, and can't wait to see how you have evolved!  You have a week to answer these questions, and get that card made!  See you soon at CTS ...

  1. I refuse to pick...the layout may be the same but they're so different. Love the clean precision of the first one (besides, it's grey and yellow...enough said) and the second is full of soft color and texture (what's not to love). Both are fabulous. End of comment.

  3. Oh my gosh, your baby card is so darling, Michele...CAS perfection and I love your color palette! Your current take on the sketch shows how much you've grown with your beautiful watercoloring, fabulous layering, and textures on your design! Too hard to pick a fave, since the CAS lover in me would choose the first card and my admiration for a striking design makes me select the 2nd card...what can I say, you ROCK, my friend!

  4. The baby card is just darling as it can be Michele and a great take on the sketch, but I also love the new card with the sketch take. It is fabulous as well, so can't really pick between the two! I adore them both! Hugs, Brenda

  5. Don't make me pick just one! Gray, yellow AND polka dots ~ sweetness. Then there is your luscious watercolored lovely. Love them both!

  6. The baby card is so pretty, but I LOVE the watercolored one, Michele! I see maturity as a card-maker in the card. Simply gorgeous colors!! I LOve that you used the woodgrain hexagon as a backdrop and added a few color-matching sequins! Hideko xx

  7. What a fun challenge... I don't tend to go back and look at my cards, but I do know that they would definitely take a whole different kind of turn nowadays. Love that 'proper' shape, disguised as a lily pad!

  10. Can't pick, won't pick. Both are fabulous! And I can't get over the neat artichoke in the background of the first picture (along with that view out the window). Thanks for sharing!

  13. I'd say you more than evolved, Michele. The new card is so artistic and gorgeous and maybe one of my favorites of yours. I love the blue washed background and what appears to be an iridescent woodgrain hexagon. The watercoloring on the lotus isn't too shabby either. ;)
