Inspired By ... let's go camping! #26

Camping is something I've had little experience with - by choice, really … I am a clean n' tidy girl!  who MUST have running water!

I must admit, the little travel trailer in our Inspired By photo does make me yearn for the open road - and I'd bet it has facilities.

All that leads me to this card … and my memory of Dad packing our beloved station wagon,  and hitting the open road - and the next Cabin-ette in Michigan!

My Inspiration?  The gray drew my eye first, then the texture of the quilt, which is clearly why I chose to dry-emboss my patterned paper.  This one, from Pinkfresh Studios, even had a few of the colors in the photo!  The U HAUL is my nod to Dad, who hauled just enough to leave room for his crew of nine kids... LOL!  BTW Dad always wanted to go camping - Mom put the kybosh to that real quickly!

Hope to see how YOU were Inspired By #26 in our gallery!

  1. Oh now I know where our connection comes from Michele! I am SO not a camping person! But... that being said... you really made an awesome camp inspired card! Love the sense of movement!

  4. My only camping experience was with Harry when we were first married, but in a tent so even more primitive. Seems every time it rained! Love waking to the sound of birds and exploring nature but like you, I definitely need hot water! Love your fun design, especially the little guy in the back waving out the window!

  7. You had me at grey and dry embossing...then I really studied the card. You are a genius...so much fun, movement and that sentiment...I can't even!
Good to know I'm not the only one who feels this way about camping, although, I have always believed in sleeping on an actual mattress, too.

  13. What a lovely memory, Michele ... beautifully shared in both words and in your genius card! Every little detail is so lovingly put together ... there's texture, movement, energy ... and so much FUN! Camping (in tents) ... been there ... had adventures ... loved it. Reached the stage now though where a little more comfort doesn't go amiss! Hugs, Anita :)

  14. So perfect, Michele. I'd be the one hanging out the back. Or better yet lying in the back window. lol
