May Day!

No! That's not a distress signal!!  [In fact, we've yet to lower the canoe from the rafters] It's raining kitties and puppies: a very gentle but steady rain which we needed so I'm not complaining one bit!

Marcia is the host with the most over at Color Hues #108 and while we did a little texting this morning, I pulled down my newest blues and got to work!  Hope she likes my blue and yellow creation!

I adore the 'seersucker' look of my Altenew Rustic Linen embossing folder, so it was easy to use it as a backdrop for these blue and yellow 'poppies' from Concord & 9th's Paper Posies set - the stamen from their Primrose Garden.  My 'cheers' comes from Altenew, too.

I am normally not a fan of blue, but this blue makes me very happy.  So do Blue Poppies: they're real just google them!

How accommodating for Just us Girls to have their 'die week' premier today, too!  Since I have indeed used a flower or two, I will share this card with them happily!

Thanks for dropping by!

  9. Oh, the wonderful texture and popping happy colors! Just let me drink it all in. Those flowers are so much fun! I felt the first sprinkles when I went out this morning. I enjoyed several days of sunshine and now we could use the rain.

  10. Michele... action-packed texture!! I feel like the Fast & Furious but everything works. Really loving the background EF. Really the dimension is amazing on those flowers. You know I love that you always grow my wish list when you play at Just Us Girls. BTW... Carol sent me a note that C&9 posted on the die I used this week...that if you start in the bottom left, the pieces will fall into place. She had trouble too. THANKS for the inspiration as always.

  13. I'm not a fan of blue either, Michele, except in card making and that background is a gorgeous shade. (Can you believe that I have my card ready for them and used the same embossing folder?) The texture on the flowers is fabulous and those stamens are fun. They remind me of crepe papers flowers we used to make. Thanks for sharing your card with us at Just Us Girls.

  14. This is absolutely stunning Michele!!! I actually like blues so this really caught my attention. The texture is fabulous. I own this folder but have only used it on white cardstock which isn't nearly so dramatic. Just beautiful! Thanks for playing with us at Color Hues!
