Hello, friends - HELLO, March! I'm so happy to see you!
While thumbing through my vast collection, I came across an embossing folder that I have not used in ages. It is an Anna Griffin made by Cuttlebug called Aviary and was purchased at JoAnn's 10 years ago at least! I loved it then, and now it looks perfect for my very feminine 'second helping' for Freshly Made Sketches #625 ...
Sadly, the bird was covered - but at least the embossing shines through
the opening in this Spellbinders Scrolled Punch & Pierce plate.
Yes, it was another piece found waiting for some attention on my desk along
with these darling HoneyBee Layered Cherry Blossoms and another of their
My Favorite Flower sentiments.
One more? I had a bit of time for very loose water coloring on a sweet image from a friend... I must have been influenced by the colors above. So Spring-y! This is a Betterpress-ed image from Altenew called Wild Daisies.
... thanks for sharing, sweet friend!
Okay, I'm all cleaned up and ready for my friends next week ... have you heard? Someone finally accepted my invitation!!! lol I am so happy that my long-time bloggy friend TK is coming from the state of Washington! And Marcia will join us for a play day on Wednesday! We're counting down the days now, my friend! I'm beyond excited!

How exciting that TK is coming to visit! I am envious and know you will have a wonderful time crafting together and even more special that Marcia can join you one day! Now on to these beautiful cards! I think I have an embossed piece of that first card that I did at a friends house many years ago. I admire it every time I run across it, but haven't been able to bring myself to use it on a card. I love how you've used it here and maybe it will find it's way to a card soon. You have made the daisies sing, my friend! Love them in pink and your watercoloring is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOooh, I just love that embossing folder and it looks PERFECT with that diecut!! How fun to pull out some oldies and give them some love! Have fun with your company!
ReplyDeleteTwo wonderful cards, as always. Love the 2 tome background and the blossom on the first and your lovely loose watercolour on the second. Have fun next week xx
ReplyDeleteSuch a sweet take on the sketch and I think EF's of the past should not be forgotten. What a beauty that AG folder is and is perfect for your card and the sketch. And your loose watercoloring is simply amazing!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with TK and Marcia! Looking forward to seeing all of your creations!
Now THIS is a beautiful card and I'm predicting it will be the winner! I love every marvelous little detail, Michele. Your second card is simply lovely and yes, looks like spring. Now where did they hide that transporter... beam me to Michele's next week Scotty!
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards, the first one is absolutely stunning! I'm not sure if the colors are drawing me in..., the beautiful cherry blossoms, the texture or just EVERYTHING! Wow! Your second card is also beautiful, but in such a different way - large florals always make a statement.
ReplyDeleteAnd YES... I'm excited to be coming! Can't wait!
What a pretty set of cards! I love the colours and that beautiful embossed background! Those flowers are so pretty as well! Thanks for joining us this week at Freshly Made Sketches!
ReplyDeleteYou have an amazing garden in your craftroom! These are all gorgeous! And have fun crafting with friends this week!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh Michele...your 1st card is absolutely GORGEOUS!! I love the soft colors and all the dimension with the embossing! The sentiment is just perfect too! Your 2nd card is also a beauty...perfect coloring! Bonnie sent me a couple of these to color up and I made a mini slimline card with it...will post it after I know Bonnie has received it! Lovely, lovely cards my friend and can't wait to see you and TK next week! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteThere are advantages to keeping older supplies 😊. The card turned out great of course! How fun you are having a fellowette stamper joining you! TK has been a new commenter on my blog! Tell her hi. Hope you all have a super fun time!
ReplyDeleteTwo beauties Michele! What a pretty ef you used on the first card. It's products like that, that are timeless in style, which makes it so hard to clean out my craft space. I have so many older stamps, dies and ef that I just can't seem to part with. Your card is just lovely!!! Great job on your loose water coloring as well. Another stunner. Oh your crafty week sounds delightful!
ReplyDeleteTwo glorious cards, Michele. I love that you still have Cuttlebug folders. I do too. I just don't have the artistic eye that you do to make them shine like you do! I so love seeing what you come up with and then letting out a happy sigh. I'm so happy for you to have a friend coming to play with you. Is that what I read? So exciting! I hope you have a marvelously creative and happy time together! Happy March!
ReplyDeleteWonderful lovely cards but how did you get two tone paper like that? I love it!
ReplyDeleteOhhhh, so much beauty here today! I have that folder, too, and yes it's gorgeous and hasn't been out for a while. Your card is so lovely with the soft colors and the frame coming in from the side to highlight those pretty and delicate flowers. You're treating us to much more today with the watercolored flowers filling up your second card and looking softly stunning. The pressed design shows up nicely in your photo. Enjoy your special company from Washington, Michele!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness. How wonderful that TK is making a trip to Michigan. You too will have a great time especially when two becomes three with Marcia. If only I still lived there. :(
ReplyDeleteEverything old is new again and that ef is terrific, Michele. I love the cherry blossoms. Maybe I should have gotten them instead of the dogwood. Those bright better pressed flowers are beautiful.
Two lovely cards - so pretty and springy. How exciting that TK is coming to visit and you will have a play date with Marcia. Have lots of fun.
ReplyDeleteSomething old... something new... something borrowed.. something mmm teal lol. Love it Michele!
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are so wonderful. I have ordered that Spellbinders plate because, well... you made me. I love the colors and the softness of this gorgeous card. Love the bun in your pic. The second card is so lovely too. Betterpress is calling me, though so far I have resisted. I love your loose watercoloring and your color choices as always. Spring is definitely in the air!
ReplyDeleteThese are just gorgeous! LOVE the embossing on that first one and what an awesome design! The flowers on card #2 makes me yearn for an Early Spring!! Beautifully done my friend!
ReplyDeleteLovely cards, Michele...and how exciting to have a visit from TK. Can't wait to see what you all create.
ReplyDeleteI can see why this embossing folder is a long time favourite ... it's gorgeous and I love how you've done it in two colours to create a beautiful background from your framed flowers. Feminine and lovely, Michele! xx
ReplyDeleteOh Michelle, this is so incredibly lovely...The background inked with the EF is stunning and that frame is AMAZING! I will have to pick that one up. Well deserved win my friend. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteWinning again, congrats - she's a beauty!
