Here are their gorgeous flowers:
They provided just the 'kick in the plants' I needed to finally ink up
my Spellbinders' January Betterpress Club Poppies in Cosmic Sky ink:
No, they don't hold a candle to those real Himalayan Blue Poppies - I'd
give anything to beam myself up to Longwood Gardens today!
Their Delphiniums are also calling my name - I used Altenew's Starry Flowers
to create something like theirs:
Are you seeing the color theme here? Here's a final card for today - then it will be time to choose which card will head to Color Hues #83 for second helpings!
You may remember that I used this Layering Cosmos foiled for my first CH card. This time I used the plate as it was meant to be used: as letterpress using their
gorgeous Coastal Betterpress ink. I brought in the 'cream' using Antique Linen Distress ink for water coloring the blooms. My sentiment is also Betterpress-ed
from their Four Petal Sunflower Frame set - more on that soon - I cut it
using an old set from Altenew: Speech Bubbles.
I'd say that was just about enough sharing for one day - thanks for spending a little of your precious time with me!

Wow, Michele, what a fabulous collection of floral cards! I was at Longwood Gardens many years ago with my father. On our most recent visit to Pittsburg Tracy and I spent a wonderful couple of hours at the Phipps Conservatory. We lucked out that the Spring Flower Show was on, but I imagine it's beautiful any time of the year. Thanks for sharing your card making gifts with us at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteWOWZA! I can't wait to go see these in person...but meanwhile, your gorgeous florals are the next best thing! BEAUTIFUL! What great inspiration, right?!
ReplyDeleteWOW, WOW, WOW!!! What a trio of loveliness Michele! Your blue poppies against the cream colored cs is CAS perfection! Your Delphiniums are absolutely lovely too, but my favorite is the last card with the Cosmos done in our challenge colors...oh my gosh girl, you make me want to pull mine out and CASE you!! FABULOUS cards my friend and thanks so much for sharing your beauties with us at Color Hues (again)! Hugs. :0)

ReplyDeleteOh my a Rhapsody in Blue going on here! Your flowers are just as gorgeaous as the real ones!
ReplyDeleteThe inspiration is fabulous and so are your cards, Michele. I haven't used my Starry Flowers in ages and they make great delphiniums.
ReplyDeleteI was feeling 'blue' until I saw your beautiful post my friend, what a delight of flowers you have for us!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Look at you doing blue and doing it beautifully! I LOVE your blue poppies and I was thinking along those same lines. (Hopefully I can get to it before the challenge closes.) And the Delphiniums are gorgeous in their shades of blue! My jaw dropped when I saw your Cosmos plate pressed with blue ink! I love this as much as the other and I'm so glad they the plate and stencil are on their way. Ordered anyway! Now I need to order blue ink. You keep me in supplies, my friend!
ReplyDeleteWow, three gorgeous cards in cream and blue. Love all the beautiful blue blooms, yours and the real ones also. TFS

Nice day and weekend Epie
These are gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteWell, I love these, especially the first one. I am going to have to invest in some more press plates. I think. Hope I get some birthday money to help me do it. xx
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely love all your cards! Yum, I love blue. tfs
ReplyDeleteYou aced the blue, Michele! These cards are so lovely. I'm very impressed with the beauty of the Betterpress images. They're gorgeous illustrations on their own, but then add the impressed outline and it takes them over the top. I especially love the third card with the blue outline and gentle cream coloring. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh, goodness, I forgot to mention the garden pics. Extraordinary blue poppies in an extraordinary garden. I cannot resist a garden tour. I've enjoyed Buchart Garden in BC in different seasons, and the 80 acre Oregon Garden, as well as our own Shore Acres Garden right here at home. I'm so ready for the fair weather to come and stay a while!
ReplyDeleteOh my those beautiful blues!!!! just stunning each and every one, especially with the touch of water colouring, what a talented artist you are.

What a fabulous collection of beautiful cards...in blue! It's certainly easy to be inspired by the flowers in the photos, they are amazing. Using the Starry Flowers a perfect choice - they look so dainty and beautiful, and now you've inspire me to dust off that set and ink it up! Thank you for sharing another card at Color Hues, you always create such wonderful designs!
