... two challenges, that is! I had one more fun new goodie from HoneyBee on my desk to use. Sorry if you're already tired of my fishing cards. But I creel-y couldn't resist...
The fishing rod isn't quite up to proportion with this Vintage Creel but seemed to be
where the fishing line ends - so it was a must.
If you're wondering - those fish are actually one of the lures from HoneyBee's
Lovely Layers: Lures, and the sentiment can be found in that brilliant
set called: Hooked on You.
This one will be added as a second helping to Freshly Made Sketches #619.
I made a card for Double D's January 2024 challenge - they are asking for sparkle and/or shine and when I saw some of the snowflakes their team used, I was in!
I had a few more of these wonderful SU Soft Succulent panels that I cut with one of Marcia's stash of dies - I think it's a cover plate from The Greetery? [She's much better at labeling than I am!]
Anywho - I backed it with a panel of mirror card stock and it's about as shiny a thing as I could find today. Even though photographing it was a bear...
The silver embossed sentiment was the easy bit - I still had lots of
sentiments left in my Christmas stash. The wonderful snowflakes are
also from HoneyBee - Lovely Layers: Large Snowflakes
It's a VERY cold day - 12 degrees this morning, but the sun came up and the sky is blue! I'll take it!
Have a great weekend my friends!

Two absolutely fantastic cards, Michele!!! I will never tire of your fishing cards as they've all been amazing! This one is a brilliant take on the sketch!!! And your snowflake card is gorgeous!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous twofer Michele. I am so enamored of your fish cards. The coverplate is indeed from the Greetery on your second snowy card.
ReplyDeleteMy skies are full of snow today and unlike the snow earlier this week which was the small icy flakes, these are the wetter kind of flakes-my favorites. Just waiting on a band of snow that gives me fat fluffy ones. Maybe I'll get some crafting done...lol.
Love both of these beautiful cards! The fishing card is so handsome and the creel is so wonderfully colored. Love the bg and your very clever fish/lures.
ReplyDeleteThose lovely snowflakes and bg. make a gorgeous holiday card!
I really like the background you gave the vintage creel and that sentiment is one I need to remember for my guys! I think those pretty big snowflakes of yours might just be at my house. We have about 5" so far! Two wonderful cards, Michele!
ReplyDeleteAs long as you get some sunshine the cold can be tolerable. That's what I think anyway. Great cards, love the soft grey stencilling on the first and all the shine on the second (I am imagining it) xx
ReplyDeleteYour fishing card is even more clever than the last ones! Love that fishing line curling into the creel and it looks like a good catch today! Your snowflakes are so pretty and I love how they look on the Succulent background. I keep hoping to see snowflakes but so far only the paper one and the glass ones in my window.
ReplyDeleteWho could ever tire of your cards--no matter what the theme? And I just have to tell you that your creel looks amazing and steals the show from those fish! And that's another dazzling card for the DD challenge!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards! I adore the fishing one!!
ReplyDeleteAdorable fishing card, love the little "catch" basket. I'm also drooling over your snowflake card -- wow, that background, shine and beautiful snowflakes -- so pretty!
ReplyDeleteThere is no way no how one can become tired of seeing your cards and creativity! Keep 'em coming in whatever flavor you want, my friend. These are fantastic! Thank you for being willing to share them! And yay for seeing the sun even if it was a tad bit briskly!
ReplyDeleteI love all the texture on your creel, Michele, and what a great idea to use the lures as fish. Snowflakes are beautiful when they're on a card and they look great with that fabulous coverplate.
ReplyDeleteI adore both cards. In fact I had to snag the creel die set. It's perfect for so many masculine cards, thanks for the inspiration. And thanks for playing along with us over at Double D, I hope we see you back again soon!

I could never get tired of your fishing cards, Michele! They're some of my favorites. When I was a kid my "fun uncle" gave me a kid size fishing rod (perfect for bluegill). We didn't use a creel, but it would probably have been about this proportion. My brother and I would go down to the trestle and spend the day. Kids could do that then, sigh. Those are some beautiful snowflakes you've got there, and perfect on the cover plate! I can just imagine the mirror cardstock gleaming through. Fabulous! Thanks for playing with us at Double D!
ReplyDeleteThat fishing basket has amazing texture! love the card! The snow flakes are lovely too - do you go ice fishing as well??? Brrrr....
ReplyDeleteI may not know what a creel is, but I do know that your fishing card is fabulous! And so is your snowflake card! Thanks for joining us at Freshly Made Sketches this week!
ReplyDeleteMichele, you amaze me! BOTH of these cards are so beautiful! I just love your style... Hugs and stay warm!!
ReplyDeleteTwo FABULOUS cards Michele! I'm loving ALL your fishing cards and you can make as many as you want as far as I'm concerned!! The sentiments that go with this set are so perfect too! Your snowflake card is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and yes, the background coverplate die is from The Greetery. Cool idea to back the background with the mirror cardstock too...I bet the shine in real life is awesome! And those snowflakes are GORGEOUS!! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteNever get sick of your fishing cards, Michele - in fact I'm trying to not buy all this Honeybee fishing goodness... Totally fabulous cards perfectly executed.
ReplyDeleteLOVE everything about the fishing card!! Wonderful textures and colors! Awesome snowflakes too!
ReplyDeleteI can't get enough of the fishing cards. I love this one. And your snofflake card! That cover plate is fabulous and those snowflakes are extra special. Gorgeous card.
ReplyDeleteKeep those lure cards coming as I'm waiting for the delivery of my lure dies after seeing your beautiful card a while back so I need all of the inspiration I can get. Another fabulous card and love how realistic the Vintage Creel is such amazing colour and texture.
ReplyDeleteAs for the sparkle or shine card, this really is a touch of class.
Marie
I kept telling myself I 'didn't need' this die as well... but now I think I may have been wrong lol.
