I'm very happy to have a win so I could be invited back to Color Hues Color Challenge as a guest designer! Oh, and it's a goody - but aren't they all? Hope you can play along!
stamped it with Memento copic-friendly ink and chose three shades of yellow and green from my Copic collection.
Since I stamped the flowers with the leaves I had to
get a little clever when die-cutting. I partially cut
the Iris's heads with the dies, then finished the job with
my scissors...
I couldn't get enough of that sunshine-y yellow, so I chose to cut a postage-edged panel from some pretty yellow plaid then popped
up my Iris and another sentiment
from Pinkfresh Studios' Perfect Sentiments
I have to thank my friend Hilary for inspiring me to revisit this sweet set - she mentioned her Irises in her garden and my
imagination took over from there! OH and then this gorgeousness:
I was so inspired by the lemons and those darling curtains from Double D's Lemon-ade inspired moodboard!
Thank you, Color Hues, for the win, and the invitation to be your guest!

I do love iris but mine have finished blooming, they were spectacular though, rich, dark velvety purples with a splash of orange at the throat! Your iris remind me of the ones we had growing in our pond and the old house, no pond here other than the ones in the fields. Well done with the die cutting and being a fab GD. :)
ReplyDeleteI have been enthralled with this beauty before the challenge went live - I"m in love with all that yellow and the beautiful blooms. A breath of summer to me! We love having you as our GD, Michele!
ReplyDeleteWell that was a surprise. I am quietly reading your post and admiring these amazing irises and see my name mentioned. It is hard for me to believe that I can inspire you, but I thank you for the mention. Irises are one of my favourite flowers and I think the only iris stamp I have is a silhouette - I will have to check. I ought to enter the flower challenge, hope I get some time this weekend. Thanks for your continued inspiration. Sorry I haven't visited every post this week. Various things have kept me busy. One of them being the need to water all my pots every evening. We have had no rain for at least 6 weeks, but probably 8 and it has been very hot recently too xx
ReplyDeleteWelcome, welcome...it's so good to have you playing along with us Michele, and your bright and sun-shiny Iris's are absolutely BEAUTIFUL in all that wonderful YELLOW and green! ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I am loving this sunny, happy and cheerful Iris card Michele! That plaid paper is fabulous! What an amazing job you did of stamping, coloring and then partial die cutting of those Iris. You are a good fussy cutter too! I would have never known that you die cut part of this flower and fussy cut the rest, looks like it all has been die cut! A gorgeous CAS card for sure! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteMichele, We love having you back with us as our Guest at Color Hues. I had no doubt that you were going to showcase a beautiful floral using our color pairing. The background is as pretty as the Irises. Have a wonderful weekend.

ReplyDeleteToo gorgeous for words!!
ReplyDeleteOur neighbors has lovely irises and peonies. They say once they are ready to split she will share with me. That's so great I said, since our new home is just coming into first Spring with us here, and its a little bleak. Several assorted flowers, but once bloomed, underwhelming but I love them anyways!
Thanks for the inspiration, had to play along Michele.
The title of your stamps/dies captures perfectly my response to your card: enchanting! The irises are lovely and oh, that plaid background! Swoon inducing! Thrilled to have you as our inspiring guest designer!
