DT member Hannelie has a fun color combo for us at Color Hues #63 - you know I'm not known for my love of color but after a bit of purging in my studio over the last two weeks, I found a stamp that just makes me smile and hadn't yet seen ink! I had been saving it for a special day of play that sadly didn't happen - it was high time they came out to dance!
Enter my conga line of critters from Colorado Craft Co... there are some tell-tale signs that they did a little snacking along the line ...
That very big cake is also from CCC and was stamped first in Copic-friendly ink, colored in colors closest I had to those in the prompt, then over-stamped with VersaFine Clair ink. I did a little fussy-cutting and popped my cake off the edge and popped up on my A2 side-folded card base. The critters were treated the same way and popped atop my cake. A little celebratory Stickles was added to the party.
Here's another thing to celebrate... I'm finally remembering to add my first-time use of this stamp to the NBUS Challenge #50!!! [50?? goodness it has taken me long enough - sorry, D!!]
Thanks, Hannelie for prompting one last use of this cake before it goes in the purge-stack for the next card-maker to enjoy!

Haha Michele, this is adorable!
ReplyDeleteI still have my copy of this fun image, Michele, and have yet to color it. I was waiting until we could all do it together but I guess that's not happening now. It worked well for the color combo.
ReplyDeleteVery fun and very cute 😊
ReplyDeleteSooo excited that these little cuties got to 'play'... is that 'icing that they have on their faces lol. Brilliant my friend!
ReplyDeleteMichele, This is absolutely adorable and perfect for this color combo. I just love that the mice have frosting on their faces. The more frosting the better in my opinion. Love having this fabulous card start the gallery off at Color Hues.
ReplyDeleteHa! This is a party on a card, Michele! Love how you've used these colors and those critters do look like they're having a lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteStop it!!! Their frosting covered hands, feet and noses are too dang cute!!! WWCD, love it to bits!
ReplyDeleteWelcome, M! We love your critters and how you've colored them to show how much they love that giant piece of cake! I have that cake in my purge pile, too, but now I think I'll pull it out, lol! Great use of the colors and great shading and schparkle! Thank you for inspiring everyone at NBUS! Hugs, D
ReplyDeleteHow absolutely delightful, Michele. I can hear the music blaring as they conga across the cake! So happy it finally got to play. Thanks so much for sharing. Have a fabulous day.

ReplyDeleteOh, stop, this is way too cute! I hope you're not going to purge those critters because they are so much fun, espeially how you've used them -- dancing atop the cake with frosting smeared on their faces. So clever. You always make me smile!
ReplyDeleteOh so cute, Michele! You always have a clever way to use fun stamps but this is one of my favs, with the mice obviously enjoying the cake and icing as they conga their way across the top of it! Thank you so much for starting off the gallery with a party!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable. I love everything about these critters slipping through the icing, but my favorite is the icing on their mouths. What an awesome way to use the CH colors!
