A day spent with my friend Marcia is always a treat - even better this time since it had been 4 months since we had gotten together! Need I say it? we had a blast!
I brought along a few sets to share and spent some time cutting and stamping some things from Marcia's stash - that's like the best no-cost shopping spree ever! Here is another card I made using her Morning Glories from The Greetery:
Take notice of the gorgeous embossing on my cards front -
I almost broke Marcia's machine using it - sorry again about that folder, my friend! =[
We always choose one set to play with together - enter this Blooming Peony cling stamp and stencil set from that awesome Pinkfresh Studio prize I won in January! Marcia's studio is set up with two desks - so we craft back-to-back when I'm there... made for such a fun reveal as we shared the stencils in order, but we didn't share our inks! I adored Marcia's results .... ready for mine?
This card is a recreation of one I recently mailed to my granddaughter Lola who is a senior in high school this year - she can be very proud of her hard work as it has really paid off!
Marcia, thank you so much for your hospitality - and your friendship! I can't wait to do it again - sooner!Okay. Now is the time when I thank you very much for stopping by, but now invite you to join me as I dash over to Marcia's blog to see how she finished her lovely panel! Let's go!
=] Michele
My panel was cut with MFT Wonky Rectangle die.
Sentiments are from PF Detailed Leaf set, cut with the Altenew Featured Sentiments die set.
I love how you kept your Blooming Peony card so simple and let the stenciling do all the work on that GORGEOUS card Michele! Your simple sentiment, thread, and wonky stitching frame were all the additions this lovely card needed! And your Morning Glory card? Well, it's GLORIOUS!! I love the two toned pink and purple together on those beautiful blooms!! Your fern embossed background and the die cut frame all in white make your flowers POP even more...totally in LOVE with this card!! (And obviously the ef still works and my machine is working just fine too, so no worries!!!!!!!!) Thanks so much for a much needed and FUN get together Michele...it was the best day I've had in ages!! And thanks for the cornbread and almond bars too...both were SOOOOO good! So glad we're friends...you're a treasure Michele!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteBoth cards are beautiful!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous cards, Michele...I bet its a dream like session when you two get together...oh to live near ya all...
ReplyDeleteOh WOW! Looks like you had a blast my friend, I can't stop swooning over that gorgeous PF peony, you have made it shine!!
ReplyDeleteBoth yours and Marcia's peony cards are stunning...I love stenciling!!
ReplyDeletePRETTY cards, Michele! I love the card you made for Lola, what a fabulous peony. Sounds like you two had a great time!
ReplyDeleteFun cards, and sounds like a definite fun day! So glad you could get together and make these beauties
ReplyDeleteSo happy for you to have had such a fun and productive time with your friend! You actually get cards made and don't just fluff about pretending to make cards! Totally impressed. I also adore the cards you made. SO very pretty! Hope you can do it again soon, too!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful cards Michele! Those morning glories are stunning!! Well, both of your cards are stunning, but the morning glories look like they're growing right there on the front of that card. Your crafty get together sounds like the recipe for a perfect day.
ReplyDeleteI am so jealous and can't wait until we work a date for the three of us this summer. Your morning glories are...well, glorious, Michele. I love the embossing behind and the Hemstich circle. The stenciled peony is lovely. Does it include one for the background too? The light blue is so pretty around the blooms.
ReplyDeleteYour morning glories are beautiful and I love the embossed ferns and round frame! Love the stenciled colors on the peony! Congrats to your granddaughter. I'm envious that you and Marcia could stamp together.
ReplyDeleteThat first card is just delightful, I love the blue pink and white, but I am torn, the peony cards are amazing too. Oh dear, I am stumped. How amazing to be able to visit and craft with someone who has such a wonderful stash xx
ReplyDeleteOh, yes, four months is too long but it can be so hard to arrange these get togethers. Clearly you both had the best time! Your cards are so gorgeous! Those Morning Glories are striking and the embossing dropped my jaw. It's such a beautiful folder! When I read your comment about it I laughed out loud and Rich had to come see what was so funny. I'm sure he can't imagine how card making can be such a hoot. Love the colors you used on your Blooming Peony card. So soft and spring-y and it fills the card with beauty. I know your granddaughter appreciated the card you sent. A young person can never be shown too much love. I'll be visiting Marcia next. Thanks, Michele!
ReplyDeleteThese are GORGEOUS! It's always so much fun to get together with crafty friends and rummage through their stash lol. I can just image the fun time you had as I've done that in the past and always treasure each crafty friend get together. Although I don't get as much done as they do because I'm too busy 'yacking' lol. These are all just beautiful and LOVE that embossed background panel.
ReplyDeleteYou and Marcia are the dynamic duo! Beautiful flowers! My dad and I used to grow morning glories
ReplyDeleteWaaaay back in the day……I thought they were gorgeous and absolutely magical - like your cards - because they could climb!
Wow, the colors of morning glories pop so beautifully on the white background, Michele! The texture of the background is wonderful, and you used the white wreath-like circle so well to anchor the flowers and the sentiment.
ReplyDeleteThe second card looks fantastic with your soft stencil-coloring. I bet Lola loved the card from her kind and encouraging grandma.
Hideko xx
Such beautiful creations, and I know how much fun you two had. Your backgrounds are absolutely stunning, and I love the touched of die cut flowers, enamel dots, lacey die cuts, vellum, wonderful words... All beautiful and wonderful tools from the toolbox.
ReplyDeleteSorry it is has been a while since I've been by Michele, I'm going to try and catch up! Looks like you have been a very busy Lady too! But I know it is going to be lots of amazingly beautiful cards to see! Yay for your time with Marcia! How fun!!! I am loving the morning glory card, so beautiful. I know they vine all over everything, at least the wild ones do, but they are so delicate and pretty aren't they?!! Uh oh on the embossing folder and Marcia's machine! It is a gorgeous embossing folder and I pray that it didn't break and the machine is fine!!! But it is sounding like the folder might have broken??? I LOVE the peony card, the colors are so springy and gorgeous. Love that you made an encouragement card for your granddaughter! Sounds like a graduation is coming up soon and someone is off to do great things!!! Hugs, Brenda
