A Facetime-Playtime is so much fun - except for not being able to share a hug! Bonnie and I have been trying to coordinate a playdate and it was so nice to finally make it happen last week! We decided to give each other the bird - just kidding! Those Pinkfresh Songbirds on a Branch stencils were calling to us and I had just gotten the coordinating die!
I used my birds for the Color Hues challenge where they are looking for lime green, and navy - here are the inks and I used black foil to hot foil the outlines... Congratulations on your 2nd birthday, Color Hues team!
Having that die allowed me to play with the placement of the elements a bit - tucking a bird here, layering the branch there. I arranged to have a spot for my sentiment, too - bonus! And while there were branches, I added a few more with a Mama Elephant Leafy cover die - leaving them white adds interest without confusing the eye, I think.
Bonnie used her songbirds for a different challenge - but wait until you see the colors she used!! Gorgeous, I'm telling you! Head on over with me, why don't you? She loves visits just as much as I do!
Thanks for sharing your crafty time and friendship, Bonnie! Let's do it again soon!

Edited to add their celebration partner for this birthday Seize the Birthday:
I can't wait to do it again and I love your card even more seeing it on a bigger screen, Michele! It was so much fun to craft and chat together. Almost as good as an in person playdate! Your stenciled coloring is perfect and I love that background and the addition of the navy dots.
ReplyDeleteYou and Bonnie both did amazing things with these goodies! And I am quite impressed with your use of the BLUE! Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteMichele... I just pulled this set out last night to make a CAS challenge card. Love both your and Bonnie's masterpieces!
ReplyDeleteYou know Seize the Birthday is Navy and Lime Green this week as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun that must have been to Facetime and create, Michele. Your card is gorgeous. I love it with the black foil. It gives a totally different look than using gold but either makes such a beautiful card. I'm wish I had this set at the moment.
ReplyDeleteThe Color Hues colors look fabulous on this card Michele and raising the die cut images up was a great idea...sometimes we just really NEED those dies!! I'm jealous that you got the black foil to look so cool...I tried it once and it looked like #*!>!! Guess I'll have to try it again! Glad you and Bonnie could play together...I'm sure there was lots of laughing and FUN! (although no food...bummer!!) FABULOUS card my friend! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteMichelle your card is so beautiful and I'm so glad that you were able to play cards with Bonnie. I'm heading there next! The black foil is amazing, I'll have to try that. ReplyDeleteThis is just gorgeous, Michele. Using that cover plate beneath the Songbirds On A Branch pieces was a brilliant idea. The colors are perfect, as was the idea to use black foil. I used some recently, and I love the affect. Just a wonderful result of your fun date with Bonnie.
ReplyDeleteThis looks amazing!!
ReplyDeleteHoly Cow! This is stunning. I need to try some black foiling. Thanks so much for playing with us at Seize the Birthday!
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever with your die cuts. I really like how you have layered those leaves and birds over the white leaf frame, it adds so much extra interest and texture but doesn't detract from those gorgeous birds. I will head over to Bonnie now and see what she has done xx
ReplyDeleteYou and Bonnie play very nicely together! This is gorgeous.....and your less is more technique with the blue is fabulous.....a perfect card!
