Hello, my friends - thanks for stopping by today! I'm so happy to be Playing Cards with another of my blogging friends today: TK Watson from Time 4 Cards!
TK happens to be one of a handful of people I surprised with a phone call many years ago. She and I have had lots of chats since the first - and even have crafted together over the phone - without FACETIME! Good thing we both have very good imaginations, right? lol
Okay. Here was our assignment for May 2022:
- There MUST be flowers
- Remember Mom
- also use embossing [dry or heat]
My mom has been gone longer than I want to remember, but she is in my heart always - my card says it perfectly:
- My flowers come in the form of washi tape today - Pinkfresh Studio's Rainbow Floral washi and coordinating die. I've arranged them over an oval of white from which I had cut a label frame.
- the negative space provides a positively perfect place to tuck in this sentiment [Altenew] that says it all when it comes to my mom.
- My embossing was achieved using a Stampin' Up folder called Tasteful Textile
Your winning streak has continued! This is not only beautiful, but casts a wonderful net for those much-adored Mom's. I also love that your flowers come from a washi sheet and matching die, how brilliant is that?! Thanks for the invitation, Sweet Friend! Yes, another session soon please...
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card, I bet you and TK had a lovely play date.
ReplyDeleteOhhh, those Pinkfresh washi flowers and the textured background -- two of the things I love most when it comes to stamping. So beautiful, Michele!
ReplyDeleteThe flowers look like they're stenciled, Michele. So lovely how you placed them around the oval with the label cut. And that texture tile! Wonderful card design, my friend.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful flowers and a wonderful sentiment, Michele! A card that Tom will proudly give to his Mom! Off to see what TK did....
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely card that I'm sure Tom's mom will enjoy! I think your mom is smiling down upon you XO
ReplyDeleteYou've put all these pretty elements together beautifully. Really nuts about the e/f and the sentiment label. They are wonderful as a backdrop to the fresh looking washi flowers
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card as a tribute to your Mom, Michele! My Mom is long passed as well, so I understand your feeling of loss, my friend. The sweet blooms from the washi tape add just the right amount of color against the lovely embossed background. I enjoyed reading about your lengthy crafty tie to TK and I'm looking forward to seeing her card!

Beautiful Mother's Day card for your mom in heaven and your mother-in-law, Michele. Your flowers are so beautiful and who would guess you used die cut Washi Tape..so cool! I checked out your friend TK's beautiful flower card too:-) TFS Love and Hugs..Nancy
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful card. The Washi Tape flowers are lovely and I like how you did the sentiment. - I had the pleasure of meeting TK and we converse back and forth as well.
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, this is so beautiful, Michele. Both in the love behind it and the sentiment. I'm right there with you on my mom, too. Gentle hugs! Those washi flowers are just lovely. I'm always in awe of your talent. I hope you and your friend work out a Facetime chat if it's something you want to do, but look at what you create without it being on Facetime! Wow!
ReplyDeleteThe washi tape flowers look so pretty and the aperture draws your eyes right into the most perfect sentiment x. Love the texture from the dry embossing too Michele...fun crafting with TK x.
ReplyDeleteAh, you crafty gal! I have just purchased this washi set and, knowing my total fear of florals, I set it aside and reached for the safety of my critters....but, once again, you have inspired me. I, too, have been decades without my dear Mom, but she is with me several times a day and I know she picked out my hubby for me from above. Thanks again for this sweet inspiration.
ReplyDeleteBeau-ti-ful!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous, I love how you have put the sentiment behind the frame. It is sad when we don't have our mothers with us anymore but at least these occasions make them come to mind and be remembered xx
ReplyDeleteThis is so lovely, Michele! I can imagine your mom is smiling looking at your card. I've stopped making Mother's Day cards since my mom passed away, but you inspired me to make one again this year. Love your washi tape flowers and the perfect window for the sentiment.

p.s. Crafting with TK over the phone is a feat!
It's hard when loved ones are gone, but they really do remain in our hearts always. Your card definitely says it perfectly about your mama! I love your beautiful washi flowers, the colors in them are so pretty. I love how you kept this card CAS, it lets the focus be on the flowers and sentiment. The embossing gives that texture to draw the eye right in. Just gorgeous my friend! You just send that card right up to heaven to your mama!!! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteWhat a beauty! My mom also has been gone for 38 years so this is a card that I seldom make as I have 6 birthday cards to send out annually around Mother's Day.
ReplyDeleteI so love that rainbow Washi. You have used it beautifully here. Love the sentiment in the negative space.
