We have been elbow-deep in painting/retiling our master bathroom - but I found a few free hours to play today and couldn't resist embracing the blues, and tans from Color Hues #40!
The fabulous DT used a variety of blues so i thought my favorites would be totally acceptable ... see what you think:
I just love the look of these Altenew Impressionist Bouquet blooms and can't get over how pretty they are - they're stenciled!
I reached for their Geo Steps embossing folder [don't be fooled by that dimension: it's a simple piece of grey cardstock and the shadows cast by the light!]
Apothecary Labels again and a sentiment from an Altenew mini set, a few tiny pearls, and my work is done!

Those flowers are beautiful in the shades of blue Michele, and I'm not even that big a fan of blue! Your background has me curious...if you used an embossing folder, how did you get the two tones (gray & white), or is it just an optical illusion?? Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful shade of blue, very soft, and I'm wowed by the embossing folder and those itty bitty pearls!
ReplyDeleteLove these colors! A terrific project here and sounds like another one happening in the bathroom (I love to tile and am surprisingly good at it....it requires planning!). Good for you, you renaissance gal!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card, Michele! I absolutely love the shades of blue and the gorgeous embossing folder! Stunning!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a whole lot of pretty! I have the same question Marcia does about the embossing folder. Did you apply ink to it before embossing to get the two toned look? Whatever you did, it's fabulous!
ReplyDeleteRenovating/remodeling is a lot of work, so hats off to you for taking it on. Even more so for also being able to sit down and create in the midst of it! And to be able to create such a gorgeous card. You are such an inspiration. I so appreicate all that you do and create. I hope you take some time this weekend to rest and relax and get spoiled! Hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour blues for the flowers are beautiful, and I'm another fan of that embossing folder! Love the two colored sentiment as well. As always, thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteAn amazing card, Michele, I'm so glad you joined us at Color Hues! Those gray blues are wonderful with the warm browns, and the flowers are so soft and pretty! That EF is out of this world, what depth. Glad you took time off to share, I love it!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty spray of flowers Michele, I also love the geometric background they sit on!

Another awesome background die, Michele! Love this shade of blue with the tan! See you can do blue beautifully!
ReplyDeleteHello there... Thank you so much for the lovely card!! Oh fancy me getting a Michele original... I'm really grateful for your friendship. And what about this card... Absolutely beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI was and am fooled but that background, I thought you must have used a die and inlaid a darker shade. You are so clever with colours, this is fabulous. Hope the decorating is going OK. In our house we never do it ourselves anymore xx
ReplyDeleteI love that background, Michele. What a great place for those soft blue flowers to rest.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done, Michele. Hope the restoration is going well.
ReplyDeleteMichele this is absolutely gorgeous. I love how those colours work together and the embossed background is perfect. Thank you so much for sharing with us at the Color Hues.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful gray-ish shade of blue, Michele! Love the contrast between the geometric background and the soft organic flowers!

Wow, that EF is amazing! As are your stenciled flowers. This is gorgeous, and now I am forced to put those little labels that you have been tempting me with, in a shopping cart. A beautiful, wonderful make.
