I had all the best intentions of playing cards with Color Hues #38... don't believe me? Here's the card I made...
Altenew Mega Succulent + Apothcary Label dies + EH Everyday Punnies
My day did kind of 'succ' after I realized I was too late!
That's okay - I just kept the idea and used another embossing folder -
not at all a hardship to bring Color Hues of purple and green to the party!
I love painting with distress inks even more now that I can squish them right onto
my new Glass Mat I recently won on IG! Just LOVE this thing!
I embossed these gorgeous Lisa Horton Foxgloves into a panel of Bristol cardstock for that creamy white and tucked in simple hugs from PF.
Would you believe this is the first card I've made in weeks? I'm happy to say it truly was like riding a bicycle!
=] Michele
So purty! And no, I can't believe you haven't stamped in weeks. What's up with that?
ReplyDeleteGORGEOUS cards, Michele!!! LOVE how you painted the embossed images and the splatters are perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous cards! I love those foxgloves, and you've inspired me to try painting an embossing folder image. Hard to believe this is the first card you've created in two weeks! I'm always in awe of your prolific creativity! Thanks for joining us at Color Hues!
ReplyDeleteTwo spectacular cards, my friend! No card making, what's up with that??
ReplyDeleteOh Michele, these are so very pretty. I'm so glad you are happy with your glass mat. I bought one last year sometime and love the very same feature you mentioned! You must have worked well in advanced...or do you mean that you haven't done any stamping, but you have been cardmaking? Hrm...In anycase, happy weekend to you!
ReplyDeleteGreat effort! I have been in a drought as well... though very productive on other fronts so that is good. Love the idea of painting my 3d embossing folders.
ReplyDeleteWell aren't we the lucky ones to get to see two of your gorgeous cards! The embossing is so elegant and I love the subtle pastels.
ReplyDeleteBeautifully done on both cards, Michele.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure your succulent would have won. It really looks like a succulent and the colors are perfect. Love the foxglove folder so much and with that color it's like walking through a field of them. Don't recommend you ride that bicycle through that field, though.
ReplyDeleteYes, I'm with you, waay behind the eight ball at the moment lol. I'm back to work, holidays finished and visitors gone so I have good intentions to get back on track real soon.... starting with a catch up of your wonderful crafty creations!
ReplyDeleteI did believe you but now there is evidence! LOL That EF is beautiful on its own and then the added pink and green really worked well with the eyes and gave it so much depth. I am sure it would have been a contender for sure. As for your current card, You have me wanting to break out the EF and start water-coloring! This is gorgeous and it fits our colors perfectly! Well done on both accounts and thanks for making out gallery shine at Color Hues! Take care!
ReplyDeleteI have been patiently waiting for those foxgloves to become available since the first time you used them. SO gorgeous and you have used them beautifully once again. That succulent is a huge "succ"ess, even though you were late. It is absolutely fantastic.
ReplyDeleteTwo amazing 3D embossing folders and both stunners Michele x. I love the scale of the succulent and such a perfect sentiment to match x. The foxgloves look beautiful, the way you coloured them and congratulations on winning the glass mat x.
ReplyDeleteTwo awesome embossed cards, Michele! So beautifully colored! WOW!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing that amazing succulent card, I have that folder and I used it when I first got it but managed to keep splitting the card and haven't used it since. I must see about changing that your excellent example is such good inspiration. Your foxgloves are lovely too xx
ReplyDeleteTwo gorgeous cards. I adore that foxglove EF and the subtle colour makes it really pop. The the succulent card is so striking!
ReplyDeleteThese are beautiful! I've made challenge cards only to miss the deadlines several times. More for our stash!

ReplyDeleteI don't believe you have stamped in weeks! You must work waaaay ahead! i am kind of a rounding third and headed for home at midnight gal....gorgeous flowers!
ReplyDeleteA color combo took right from Nature! I love your succulent card Michele! It looks so beautiful the way you water colored it. Love that folder! You have brought it to life in your magical way my friend and I must say that it does not succ! lol Sorry you were to late for the challenge, but never sorry for us viewers! Your second card is equally gorgeous, love that folder too. Isn't a glass mat amazing to work on?!!! Especially with any kind of watercoloring/alcohol inks/etc....Lucky you for winning one as they are pretty pricey, but so worth it. Hugs, Brenda
