Happy New Year, my friends! I hope you've enjoyed your holidays!
I have a wonderful friend joining me to start the new year of Playing Cards with Friends! Nancy Thomas blogs at Creative Palette, is the leader of the pack at The Cats Pajamas, designs for Purple Onion, and I have even had the pleasure of meeting her for reals - a little stop in Alabama on one of our many road trips!
We're kicking off the New Year with something that is NEW - or never before used - to our stash! That's it! Real simple to do - we needed simple after the holidays!
I had a few products from The Stamp Market that hadn't seen any love yet - and it was time for non-Christmas colors, too! Ready? here you go...
Starting a new year with gratitude is truly a great place to start!
Here's a little closeup - I kind of loved that my embossing was 'less than perfect!'
Kindness Matters, and Flower Flurry [sorry this was a clearance purchase and it's no longer available] - embossed on vellum in white. A flurry of PF jewels, and a scalloped edge from an older W&W die, and a sweet little bow filled up that bare corner perfectly!
What a way to combine the old favorites with what's NEW in my stash! I can't wait another minute to see what Nancy has added to her crafty stash recently! Let's all go over, shall we?
Thank you, Nancy, for accepting my invitation to Play Cards! It was a really fun way to get our New Year started - and NO hangover!
=] Michele
Happy New Year, Michele! Your embossing is spot on - great card, Jo x
ReplyDeleteSO pretty....I love the embossing and the color of that cardstock---swooon!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!! Love the white embossing on the vellum...so soft looking and pretty! And all those jewels really bling it up too!! (Did you use your new jewel picker tool??) Lovely, lovely card my friend and YAY for new things! Happy New Year!! :0)
ReplyDeleteThis is beautiful Michele! Happiest new year to you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteA perfect sentiment to start off the new year. Love the sweet colors and all that luscious embossing on the vellum. Thank you for the invite to play cards with you. it was fun!
ReplyDeleteWhether a Valentine or Galentine this card is pure perfection. Like that embossing just the way it is. Off to view Nancy's.
ReplyDeleteMichele, this is a beauty! I love everything about it and MOSTLY I love the ample scattering of gems over the sweet flowers. I am right in tune with this sentiment and thoughts of gratitude.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you too my friend! Love your sweet little embossed beauty, now I must head over and check out Nancy's creation!
ReplyDeleteAll of those pretty little flowers dancing around are a delightful background for your vellum sentiment panel! This is a treat, Michele! So was our chat this morning XO
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Michele! I hope it's chock full of crafty goodness for you. You are off to a spectacular start. What a beauty this is! Love the sentiment! Thank you for sharing this lovely card. Crafty hugs!
ReplyDeleteYour imperfect embossing is perfect, Michele, if you know what I mean? I love the look and that fantastic sentiment! The vellum gives the pink background a beautiful, dreamy look! A great way to ring in the New Year!
ReplyDeleteSo pretty!!! Love the white on the vellum. Happy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteThat white embossing on vellum looks fabulous and what a good idea to layer the sentiment on top in the same way. I don't think I would have ever thought of that xx
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Michele. I love the vellum on vellum look.
ReplyDeletePretty and perfect - lots of feminine here! happy New Year, Michele, and I too am happy you didn't start the New Year with a hangover!
ReplyDeleteNothing like starting the year with some fabulous gorgeousness! Is that even a word?!?!? But it definitely describes this card! I took a total two week crafting break but tomorrow - back into the craft room - hope my mojo is still there waiting for me! Happy 2022!!!
ReplyDeleteThis is so fresh and wonderful! I also love that your heat embossing is "uneven" - much more interesting than if all of the flowers can out to the same. It's a wonderful affect. I LOVE the sentiment and scalloped background on vellum, and that tiny bow finishes it off beautifully. Happy New Year, my friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty flower card with a wonderful sentiment, Michele! I LOve the not-completely-solid embossed flowers too! They make this card so special. Layering vellum sentiment panel over the flower embossed vellum piece is a brilliant idea, and the translucency is so lovely.
ReplyDeleteHideko xx
So so pretty! Love the beautiful gems and the colours
ReplyDeleteSo lovely Michele!
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card and the vellum, with the heat embossing is beautiful Michele x.
ReplyDeleteThis is such a sweet card, Michele! Your embossing is perfect for the blooms and I love, love, love the sentiment! Loving that sweet little bow, too ~ xx
