I'm briefly interrupting my unplugged stay-cation to play cards with my friend Coni over at CAS Mix Up July 2021 - here's the fun theme Coni has chosen ...
My AI's really don't see the light of day often ... but I love how they worked on my PTI Linen vellum, Coni! Hope you like it, too!
Here are the inks, I've used...
With the help of a little pipette [thank you Tom] I was able to add a bit of interest, and depth to my Altenew Modern Poinsettia after embossing, without disturbing the original inking! I've chosen gold heat-embossing as my one other Mixed Media element.
Here's a little closeup...
Okay back to my regularly UNscheduled day! I'll be back soon!

P.S. Nearly forgot to add this one to the CAS Christmas Challenge, too! Thank you for the reminder Christine! xx

The alcohol ink colors you chose look gorgeous on the poinsettia, Michele!!! And I love how you added more depth and splatters!
ReplyDeleteWow! Love how your poinsettia came out with the vellum and alcohol inks Michele! It is just gorgeous!!!! The whole card is gorgeous and well done. I think I have two of the colors you used. Like you, mine rarely see the light of day and I don't know why as I do love playing with them. Future not to self once out of this leg brace, use my alcohol inks on vellum! lol Enjoy that staycation my friend! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThis is just stunning! I tend to think of alcohol inks as a background, not a focal element. Adding this to my list of "must trys".
ReplyDeleteSending you the bill for my new hip. Fortunately my wide hip kept me from cracking my head open. Hugs, Darnell
ReplyDeleteWOW! Absolutely gorgeous Poinsettia, Michele! I love how the colors blended with your alcohol inks on vellum and the shine from your gold embossing is beautiful, my friend! Thanks so much for playing along with us at CAS Christmas!
ReplyDeleteMiss you, my friend...I hope you and Tom are enjoying yourselves :)
Stunningly beautiful! Have a fabulous weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove this and another poinsettia set for the wishlist! Since I never get out my AIs (I'm a collector of stuff) this may push me over the edge into opening them!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous layered poinsettia Michele! I LOVE the colours of alcohol inks you've used on your vellum. Using a pipette is a great idea to move the colour around a bit without mixing green and red, it's tricky and you did an amazing job! Beautiful card. Thanks for sharing with us at CAS Mix Up! xx
ReplyDeleteThis is too gorgeous for words... Awesome AI creation!
