I feel I've had TOO MANY days to relax lately … how about you? Certainly none of my days have been as colorful as this photo - there are so many design factors here! See if you can find the things that factored into my card design:
Here's a hint... COLOR!
Some have noticed my increased use of color in my cards - Let's just say I'm trying!
The Stamp Market's Petal Perfection helped! These are the Distress Oxide inks I used to layer them up:
You might notice the lines of concrete/gravel under the chaise? That's where my Altenew Gradient Stripes Cover die came to my rescue. My sentiment [EBE Succulent Sentiments] has a bit of a zig-zag font - a little like the zig-zagging weave in the rug? I used the tan of that gravel for inking it.
So... who saw the fruit in the bowl? Pillows, and tassels? That gorgeous bitter-orange throw? I could make another four cards, but I do hope all of those details will inspire you to play along with IB128! We sure love it when you do!

Gorgeous card, Michele. I applaud you for trying to work outside your comfort zone. It's very encouraging. Your flower is stunning! Thanks for also sharing the parts that inspired you and how they did. So appreciate all you do! Hugs!

ReplyDeleteThe inspiration photo is definitely more colorful than my life has been too my friend, and I'm honestly getting a little tired of it, but can't seem to make myself go out yet either! Don't want to live my life in fear, but.... Now as for your card...it's definitely living in FULL color!! That bloom is GORGEOUS Michele and I'm loving those graduated stripes in the background too! Lovely, lovely card my friend!! Hugs. :0)

ReplyDeleteYep, I knew you were inspired by those lines on the ground and the warm fuzzy orange! The is beautiful Michele. After making and photographing my card I had a head slap moment...should have used my zig-zag die instead of the scallop!

Wonderful inspiration and fabulous interpretation of the photo. A stunner of a card Michele x.
ReplyDeleteYour perfect and creative choice of craft supplies always amazes me, Michele! The ink colors, the background die, and the sentiment font for this challenge- all well-thought-out! What makes me amazed more is that your complete card looks so natural that it doesn't give me an impression of using 'this layout' or 'that photo'!
ReplyDeleteHideko xx
