CAS[E] this Sketch #374 Retro #286
I'm very happy to see this Sketch again … I really loved it the first time around … and had just as much fun this time for our CTS#374 Retro Week !
I'm testing out a thing I'm calling Just One More Thing. You'll understand in a moment … here is my card:
It's pretty good, right? Nothing too fancy, it stretches the Sketch a bit with a larger embellishment, definitely still CAS. But then I thought 'could it be better?' I'll let you be the judge...
All I did was pick up a bit of watery Distress Oxide weathered wood with a piece of acetate to add what might be the suggestion of more blooms in the background. What do you think? Better, or worse? It's growing on me... and I certainly wouldn't throw it in the bin! lol
Let's go see all the CTS DT cards, shall we? We can't wait to see what YOU will make this time around!

Supplies:
The Stamp Market Ready to Bloom cover die; Stemmed Leaves die
Friend die from Winnie & Walter - sadly no longer in business.
OH! Tom wanted me to share what's blooming in our yard today... AND the Bluebirds have fledged, too!!

I'd keep the 1st and make another card with the spatters exactly like that one. They are both gorgeous. I love that flower die, leaf and the hefty friend sentiment...think the spatters just enhance it.
ReplyDeleteThat bush is spectacular...did the bluebirds perch on it?
They both look FABULOUS Michele, and I might even like the 2nd one just a tiny bit better, although the 1st is CAS perfection! They're both wonderful, and so are your lovely, lovely blooms outside! I'm not a big fan of Winter, but it sure does make me appreciate when everything blooms in the Spring!! :0)
ReplyDeleteOh I love them both splashed and unsplashed! And that tree is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHow to choose? I LOVE BOTH!! That tree is so pretty!
ReplyDeletethese are gorgeous...I'd want one more and I'd frame em on a wall.
ReplyDeleteOoooooh! The first card is definitely CAS, but the second is taken to the next level! And pray tell, who makes that floral cover die? I feel like it's an oldie and retired? xx
ReplyDeleteI love the layering of your beautiful card Michele and for me it's the second one but of course they are both very beautiful x. Thank you for sharing the pretty bloom in your garden x.
ReplyDeleteALL gorgeous, including the inspiration! Hugs x
ReplyDeleteHmmm...I don't know, Michele...I like both versions! Sometimes when we want to add one more thing it's too much, but you struck the perfect balance with your splatters...and gray? Home run, girlfriend!!!
ReplyDeleteI love them both but I would probably have to say the first more only cause I'm not one for splatters (yet). I would be more than happy to have either and certainly not binned. That flowering plant looks amazing. Not sure what fledged means so will go look that up. Xx
ReplyDeleteI think I like the second one better but maybe that's because I liked the one you did the other day in coral. They're both really lovely, Michele, and I love the big sentiment die.
ReplyDeleteWhere those pretty blooms in your yard the inspiration for your marvelous cards??!! They're both pretty, it's hard to pick a favorite... but I"m going with the first one. All of the crisp white does it for me!
ReplyDeleteBoth are beautiful but I do adore the splattered look on the second one and I adore those blooms!
ReplyDeleteLook at you go, girl! I'm leaning toward liking the first card a teensy bit more. I have a love/not like relationship with splatter/spatter. I like the cleaner feel of the first card. I instantly wondered what it would look like with that super subtle but lovely embossing folder you own that adds a bit of linen texture (I think that is what you would call it). The one from SU. As for the bush? Wowza comes to mind! It's a beauty! It looks completely loaded up with flowers. Amazing. Thanks for sharing. And yippeee for the baby bluebirds. Happy weekend my lovely friend! :)
ReplyDeleteI think both are beautiful in their own way....
ReplyDeleteCan I ask who makes the 'friend' die?
Your blooming bush looks wonderful! Nature has come alive and I love it.
Have a great wknd mf.
xx Karen
Your acetate smooshed background turned out great, Michele! I love how it has the look of splatters! The card is fantastic both ways. Definitely not bin material! Your yard is looking beautiful!
ReplyDeleteI love the gray speckles!!! I'm loving what you're doing with those little flowers and may have to try something similar. So pretty!
ReplyDeleteI really like your take on the sketch and to be honest - I can't decide which version I like better? I like 'em both! I'm going to have to add that floral die to my wish list since I've seen you use it to perfection a couple of times recently...you really are a bad influence on me! : ) It was sad when our baby bluebirds left the house several weeks ago - the backyard seemed quite empty without mama and papa hitting the worm box every 2 minutes! Have a good weekend!
ReplyDeleteBoth are gorgeous, Michele! Love "all the things" on these two. You could even make a 3rd gorgeous one, with the splatters behind/around the flowers to let them shine on their own :o)
ReplyDeleteBoth beautiful cards, Michele. I have my arms tied behind my back so I won't buy that flower die... But, oh! Guess what? I can type with my nose...
ReplyDeleteTwo beautiful die cut flower designs, Michele. The added splatters added even more depth to your 2nd card, but think the Clean, Crisp look of your 1st card is a tiny bit my favorite:-) Both are wonderful. Love and Hugs...Nancy
ReplyDeleteP.S. Your blooming bush is Gorgeous!! What is the name of your bush? Hugs...
ReplyDeleteBoth are so beautiful, Michele! I'm pretty much for crisp and clean cards, but I like the second card better. It looks to me that the spatter adds warmth. I love the choice of the ink (weathered wood) too. Hideko xx
ReplyDeleteAnd your blooming bush looks so beautiful! What's the name of the white flowers?
ReplyDeleteGosh, they're both so delicious, Michele ... those delicate blooms and leaves are fabulous with the crisp die cut sentiment! Splatters or none, they're a delight! Your shrub is beautiful in all it's blooming loveliness ... I was thinking Spirea ... though it could be a Vibernum ... or neither?! Hugs, Anita :)
