CAS[E] this Sketch #363
Donna, I don't happen to have any paws prints, or pets to pull some from for CTS363, but I have a new background stamp from Pinkfresh Studio [Abstract Cubes] that has put a hex on me... you'll get that pun in a moment... here's a closeup:
Isn't that something? All I did was stamp it on an A2 panel of water color cardstock, heat emboss it in white, and add some simple water coloring just inside the cubes, using distress ink. The hexagon dies are The Stamp Market's, as is the tiny sprig of greens - you'll notice that even those are stamped/heat embossed/water colored. My fussy-cut Hello sentiment is from the coordinating stamp set: Hexagon Hello.
Hope this puts a hex on you - to play along, that is!! Let's go see where Ms. Donna's paw prints came from, shall we? OH thanks for stopping by!

This is so cool, love that you colored in a few of the embossed shapes great way to highlight that portion of the sketch.
ReplyDeleteEverything Cat said - this is beautiful! Jo x
ReplyDeleteYou are so clever, Michele! I really love the mini pattern on your background and your die cut hexies are fabulous! Love how you fussy cut around the sentiment, too :)
ReplyDeleteI could not wait to get a closer look at your side panel--so clever! And who needs paw prints when you have all that hexagon goodness?
ReplyDeleteWell, if it hasn't put a hex on Donna, it certainly has put one on me. Think this would be a top contender...if the artist wasn't already on the DT. CTS chose the right gal.
ReplyDeleteYou always find the best background stamps and debossing cover plates, Michele. This one is perfect with a few of them watercolored.
ReplyDeleteUmmm... WOW!!! That little bit of color you added is everything!!!
ReplyDeleteThe hexagons are fabulous! And I love that they are tiny and adorable - and so sweet when you colored them!
ReplyDeleteYOu put a hex on me with this fantastic card. Wow! You never cease to amaze me.
ReplyDeleteEep! I love how you've used this set! I've been afraid to dig into mine, geometric shapes + cardmaking scare me! lol
ReplyDeleteOh my, so fresh and stylish, Michele ... what a beauty! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWonderful interpretation of the sketch!
ReplyDeleteConsider me hexed! I LOVE this, Michele! The background, the coloring inside some, the die cuts... wow!
ReplyDeleteClever take on the inspiration (even with the 'lack' of paws lol)
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome - I love the design, Michele! Watercoloring only small area of the heat-embossed background is so interesting! Great job of fussy-cutting of the sentiment.

That is a fabulous background - I love how you partially colored it and then carried it all the way through the various die cuts. A big thank you to you and the entire group for inviting me to play along!!
ReplyDeleteVery chic : ) I love that you colored just the right side of the background to conform to the sketch. VERY clever! as usual!!
ReplyDeleteMichele your card truly intrigued me this week - that background is awesome! You must have a steady hand to colour those teeny-tiny segments, so effective! A great way to add interest to a CAS background. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh that hexagonal background is fantastic. You certainly are rocking the gold paint these days...
