Inspired By #72 ... pillows

My husband thought that if he bought me a new sewing machine, I wouldn't have to buy pillows anymore - pffft!
It's not happening, darling!  Besides, the fabric and pillow form would probably cost just short of those lovelies I pick up at TJMaxx, or HomeGoods!

I had a wonderful time with our inspiration photo this week... I adore the dreamy ethereal quality of that floral print.  Here's my way of achieving it with a bit of DOX smooshing onto water color paper...

... then, stamping over, and die cutting...

So simple, and makes a soft statement, right?
Hope our Inspired By #72 pillows speak your language!

  8. OH I remember the days when I thought sewing would be cheaper than buying a wardrobe (snicker) and that making cards would be cheaper than buying them (snort). Wised up to that pretty darn quick! But your card...oh my goodness gracious, Michele is fantastic. I adore with all my heart the yellow gingham. And those flowers. Be still my heart. Thank you so much for filling my eyes with beauty!

  9. You made a perfect choice for inks and coloring technique (smooshing) to resemble the dreamy and ethereal look of the pillow, Michele! And placing the gingham behind the tilted window as a backdrop is a fantastic idea! A few white dots and the sentiment balance out well - great design!

  11. Love everything about this. What die did the stitching around the frame? I've never seen that before.
