I was in need of a 'get well' card this week … it was easy to incorporate Donna's Sketch, and a few patterned papers from my enormous stash!
That patterned paper was just too pretty to cover up, so I used a bit of vellum for my card. Take a closer look:
Is it just a coincidence that these papers remind of a my favorite Kleenex boxes? What better for a friend with the sniffles?
Looking forward to seeing your take on our Sketch this week!

There she is...Medical Lady! I love the subtle pattern on her top and how you added vellum to show off those pretty papers! As always, you've done an amazing job on the sketch, my friend!!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous take on the sketch Michele. The vellum oval really highlights your lady, and your paper piecing is fabulous.
ReplyDeleteGood to see you using that stash of design paper GF!
ReplyDeleteOh, I LIKE this!! The doc's paper pieced shirt is too cute and the vellum oval is the perfect backdrop. I recognize these papers, you gave me some when we visited!
ReplyDeleteI have those papers too. I forget about all the treasures hiding away in drawers. Love your sweet gray-haired doctor! The vellum frames her perfectly!
ReplyDeleteMichele, now you mentioned "Kleenex boxes", I can't help seeing the sentiment on the patterned paper as "Kleenex" (in a similar cursive font)! :-P
ReplyDeleteGreat use of the vellum paper. I love that you matched the color of Medical Lady's gown with the patterned paper. Hideko xx
Creative use of patterned papers here, right down to Medical Lady's scrubs! And the vellum oval is genius!
ReplyDeleteA wonderful card - sure to make anyone feel better upon receiving it!
ReplyDeleteThis is awesome, Michele. Aren't tissue boxes so pretty nowadays? I really like the paper you chose for this card. Your nurse is lovely, too. Great hair! The vellum is an excellent choice. You are so thoughtful to create a card to help someone feel better, too. I'm sure your friend will really appreciate it, and you! :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI thought I recognized that paper. I have some in a set called 'Hodge Podge' where they included that with 5 other PTI designs. It looks great as a tissue box or as the doctor's smock.
ReplyDeleteperfect-o!
ReplyDeleteYummy selection of PP, Michele ... medical lady suits those colours ... and the vellum ... beautifully! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a great and fabulous card Michele! I love your take on that sketch too. That paper is so pretty, but that vellum-well that just caught my eye and drew it right in! Your medical lady-yes I see a lady, lol, is amazing. Yep, that paper does indeed remind one of a tissue box-perfect for a get well card! Hugs, Brenda
ReplyDeleteThat's a great idea to use vellum - it makes the doctor look like she's in an angelic halo! Beautiful card!
ReplyDeleteThe vellum is perfect! Such a pretty pattern......but now you have Kleenex boxes dancing in my head!
ReplyDeleteAw, such a sweet card. I love that these stripes remind you of kleenex boxes because I was thinking just that before I read your note! So funny. Love this sweet and thoughtful card!
