Here are a few ideas for transitioning into Fall with the help of a few of my favorite Leading Ladies!
Let's take Baker Lady to the Apple Orchard … you do know she bakes an awesome pie, right? For Card 1, I've used a natural, less white cardstock, and I've stamped the sentiment and images in brown - another fun way to bring Autumn into your craft room. Copic-coloring images on that natural paper is fun, too.
Can't see the difference? Here she is on white, stamped in black jack ink ... and isn't it sweet that she's borrowed those little apples, and leaves from Cozy Lady? They do play so well together!
Now, I know the difference is subtle, but to me, there is something 'warmer' about the feel of that primitive white.
Here's another … this time, I've used Cozy Lady - who LOves Autumn as much as I do, and those last few blooms in the garden! Here I've stamped my Lady, and her blooms on white cardstock, which kind of makes them stand out a bit on the natural.

All lovely cards Michele! I love how you made her change with the seasons and colouring on 'natural' does give a different feel. It has cooled down a tad here in the last week, but it's still summer. The leaves know what it coming because you can see a bit of yellow and orange if you look up high really close.

ReplyDeleteI am still fighting the seasonal move. I have a few more summer cards to create. And it is hot and muggy here.
There is definitely a warm feeling to the natural cardstock and brown ink! These are pretty Michele and bring a glimmer of hope for cooler apple weather! Enough with the heat and humidity already!

ReplyDeleteFabulous!! After our wonderful weather on our trip, I am so not liking the heat and humidity! Your cards are such joys! The off-white works great with those perfect fall colors. Is her plaid a bit of paper piecing?
ReplyDeleteLove these cards, the leading ladies are so fun. Unfortunately, brown is not a color to gravitate to...perhaps that's why I don't want Summer to end.

I love both of the cards done in the vanilla and white, but the vanilla one does indeed look warmer-more fall like with the brown stamping. Delightfully done Michele! Michele, these are delightful!!! I love your coloring - their sweet outfits make me long for cooler days spent in the garden or orchard...Will be upon us soon! And the tip about using more seasonal tones like brown and ivory - such great advice! I'm slowly shifting my stash and looking forward to more earthy hues!
