This card was destined to be made ... turns out, for a very wonderful neighbor! Here's what happened on the way to this post:
Microsoft decided to update our system ... which immediately caused a meltdown with Adobe Photoshop Elements 9. I know, there are newer versions, but I refuse any change at this point, and have an "if it ain't broke" attitude!
After a few searches on the net, my wonderful neighbor [and a guy in Europe] figured out that Microsoft had removed a long list of fonts - guess what? One of them was used by Elements 9!! Just a simple little thing like that caused such havoc in my life!!!
So! This card is going to Marc, after posting to the Color Throwdown #451 challenge!!!
Thanks a melon, Marc!
Thanks to YOU for stopping by today ... sorry about my rant, but figured some of you have had the same issue!
=] Michele
Oh, darn that Microsoft....I had to get all new versions of quickbooks (and I do accounting for about 10 companies, including my own)...which really, really ticked me off. Glad you were able to find the fix! And what a sweet little card, too...yummy.
ReplyDeleteUgh to techie problems!
ReplyDeleteYour card is awesome.
Not fun... but your card totally is! Love the seeds.
ReplyDeleteHuzzah for techie friends huh? And huzzah even more for cute watermelon cards - this one is a visual delight!
ReplyDeleteWe have to adjust to so many changes... unnecessary and unwelcome issuee.
ReplyDeleteBy the way, I love this fresh card. Pretty colors!

This is so cute! My DH warned me Microsoft have a big update coming - not looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteEeek, Michele ... what a pain ... I'd be lost too ... there's not a techy bone in my body!! Your card for Marc is a scrumptious delight ... positively mouthwatering, my friend! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, so sorry to hear about your techie issues. Is this with Windows 10? My hubby recently updated my system to it even though I had NO issues with 7. I have Elements 11. Hope I don't have any issues the next time I do something with Elements. By the way, I so get your don't mess with it if it isn't broken philosophy. End result? You made an absolutely fabulous card! Such a visual delight! Well done! Hugs! :)
ReplyDeleteLOVE this! Thank goodness for good neighbors (friends)!! Thanks so much for playing along with us at the Color Throwdown this week!
ReplyDeleteI'm still using my Print Shop after updating to Windows 10 even thought it says it's not compatible. It has a couple of glitches sometimes but I just reload. It's definitely better than learning a whole new program. So sweet of you to make this melon card for your tech friend, Michele. I'm glad he could figure out what to do.
ReplyDeleteDon't you hate it when that happens? Hooray for techie people. Love this card with the seeds. Clever.
ReplyDeleteGreat card for your neighbor, Michele! I love how you colored the alphas and your stamped sentiment 'says it all'! Great job playing with this color palette!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you were able to get your pc issue straightened out...it can be so frustrating! And, I completely agree with your 'If it ain't broke' philosophy, too...I have PSE 7...yes, that's a seven and it works just fine!!!
Glad you got that computer issue worked out!! This card was meant to be blogged. Love those little seeds!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous card, you are the master of the watermelon look for sure! I'm running PSE 8 on Vista on an 10 yr old laptop. Until it dies...I am not changing a thing.
