Color Throwdown #451 - Thanks a Melon

This card was destined to be made ... turns out, for a very wonderful neighbor!  Here's what happened on the way to this post:

Microsoft decided to update our system ... which immediately caused a meltdown with Adobe Photoshop Elements 9.  I know, there are newer versions, but I refuse any change at this point, and have an  "if it ain't broke" attitude!

After a few searches on the net, my wonderful neighbor [and a guy in Europe] figured out that Microsoft had removed a long list of fonts - guess what?  One of them was used by Elements 9!!  Just a simple little thing like that caused such havoc in my life!!!

So!  This card is going to Marc, after posting to the Color Throwdown #451 challenge!!!

Thanks a melon, Marc!

Thanks to YOU for stopping by today ... sorry about my rant, but figured some of you have had the same issue!

  1. Oh, darn that Microsoft....I had to get all new versions of quickbooks (and I do accounting for about 10 companies, including my own)...which really, really ticked me off. Glad you were able to find the fix! And what a sweet little card, too...yummy.

  9. Oh gosh, so sorry to hear about your techie issues. Is this with Windows 10? My hubby recently updated my system to it even though I had NO issues with 7. I have Elements 11. Hope I don't have any issues the next time I do something with Elements. By the way, I so get your don't mess with it if it isn't broken philosophy. End result? You made an absolutely fabulous card! Such a visual delight! Well done! Hugs! :)

  11. I'm still using my Print Shop after updating to Windows 10 even thought it says it's not compatible. It has a couple of glitches sometimes but I just reload. It's definitely better than learning a whole new program. So sweet of you to make this melon card for your tech friend, Michele. I'm glad he could figure out what to do.

  13. Great card for your neighbor, Michele! I love how you colored the alphas and your stamped sentiment 'says it all'! Great job playing with this color palette!
I'm so glad you were able to get your pc issue straightened out...it can be so frustrating! And, I completely agree with your 'If it ain't broke' philosophy, too...I have PSE 7...yes, that's a seven and it works just fine!!!

  15. Fabulous card, you are the master of the watermelon look for sure! I'm running PSE 8 on Vista on an 10 yr old laptop. Until it dies...I am not changing a thing.
