The Flower Challenge: CASE the Designer

Let me start this post by saying this:  there is NO WAY I could ever come close to this designer's phenomenal talent!  But, The Flower Challenge #8 has given us the task of CASEing someone from their fantastic team... TaeEun, you have astounded me with your gorgeous coloring and I felt that I'd just like to try it!

I'm braving my way to CASEing TaeEun, combining her first, and second cards here:

Okay... yikes, I'm so nervous!!!  Here's my card... embossed as in #1, purples as in #2 ... Altenew's Dahlia, simply stamped, then enhanced by Prismacolor-ing... left unblended - no gamsol in the house... let's face it, I wouldn't know how!

It's easy to see I have a LONG way to go ...

Oh it was fun getting dad's hammer out again for a little selective embossing!

Thanks, TaeEun, for continuing to WOW me with every card ... and for those that make it to my mailbox?  thanks a million times more!!!

  1. Lovely combo-CASE of TaeEun's two cards, Miss Michele. I love how you've been inspired to make her cards your own sweet creation. The dahlia's are so prettily dressed in their purples, and the embossing is wonderful. I like the no-blending, as I don't know if I could figure the gamsol either, lol. This turned out just beautifully! #thetwobecomeone! Bev

  4. Hello sweet Michele! Love, love, love your beautiful card!!!! You did a great job of CASING TaeEun, her cards are stunning but so is yours. I love that you added some coloring as well. Hummm, will have to teach you how to use Gamsol, or another other stuff that is like it, like baby oil. Yes, baby oil. I haven't ever used baby oil though, but people do use it to blend their coloring! Sorry for being MIA again! Busy, busy, busy and not notifications once again, so I've decided to get on Blogger and go through Dashboard. Yeah, it took me forever to do it that way, but I'm tired of not seeing wonderful creations being make and missing commenting. Please forgive me, will go and see what all you have been doing! Hugs, Brenda

  5. Oh my gosh, Michele...firstly, you had no reason to be nervous, but I understand because TaeEun is an amazing artist! Secondly, whether you know it or not...SO ARE YOU!!! Your coloring is just beautiful, and your choice of flowers is perfect! I'm so impressed that you took on this project (I'm way too chicken), and I think your card is STUNNING! Way to go, my friend...I love it!

  6. I LOVE your beautiful card, Michele! Thank you so much for CASEing my cards and for your sweet words! You can't imagine how honored I'm feeling :)! Your coloring is gorgeous and unique without blending and the selective embossing looks fabulous! You pressed with a hammer instead of the machine???

  9. Michele, I completely understand where you are coming from when it comes to TaeEun's work. She does a phenomenal job. I would feel the same way. However YOUR creative vision is equally phenomenal. Your flowers are beautiful. I love the texture you achieved. Your coloring looks amazing to me. If you don't have Gamsol, and you wanted to learn how to blend colored pencil you could use odorless mineral spirits or even baby oil. There are lots of videos to learn from. But you can also blend colored pencils using a lighter color pencil as well. You could use a white pencil to blend out the color or a very light purple color. I loved that you went old school on the embossing! See...you are a genius! Thank you for sharing your fantastic card. Big hugs!! :)

  17. Your one brave kid to attempt a CASE of TaeEuns cards. Her colouring talent is spectacular and she always blows me away with her designs. However, I think you've given her a real run for her money with this beautiful card. Those flowers have so much detail and to be honest, I wouldn't know what to do with Gamsol either!! Well done you and don't worry we wouldn't want you to be just like her because then you wouldn't be you!!
