The Flower Challenge #5
There is a fabulous card-maker that I follow like she's a rock star - well, in my eyes she is - and we're invited to CASE her for Challenge #5 at The Flower Challenge!
A phenomenal card it is, too, from Therese Calvird of Lost in Paper:
I've taken the cue to create an open, die-cut flower, and my colors are pinks to peach, but in place of a smooshed water color, I've used a gorgeous patterned paper ... well, take a peek, you'll see the similarities, and a few differences, too!
Using a technique where one die cuts in increments, I've been able to create a floral design much like the beauty that Therese used, but using four individual dies! It's important to start with the main image, and work your way to the others that will end up in the background a bit ... easier than it seems, believe me! Think about it as you would a masking technique, only you remove the main cut as you go on to the next!
The Flower Challenge has invited a wonderful friend of mine, TaeEun of Rainbow in November, to join their design team - a brilliant move, if you ask me! Congratulations, TaeEun!!!Her card is another swoon-worthy take on Therese's card.
Thanks, Therese, TaeEun, and the entire team for inspiring me to 'play cards' on Sunday, too! You'll notice I'm getting in early... no more missed deadlines for this girl ... but don't hold me to it?!
