As many did, I thought first of the Two Feet Deep set from Papertrey Ink... am I right? Perfect little skis, fabulous dies. Here is my take using them with a bit of wood veneer:
Now. Did you happen to notice that I've created a little 'stripe-y' goodness in the background ... yep! This one is also off to see Virginia for her latest Challenge: #25 Stripes and Plaids!
I just know you are all busy creating your own Christmas/Holiday cards right now ... even more reason to thank you for stopping by for a visit! Thank you SO much...

Lovely card, Jo x
ReplyDeleteWOW, I thought it was design paper in the background, you are so clever my friend (I'll have to head over to Virginias too)!
ReplyDeleteSqueal!!!!! So cute! I wished I'd had a cute ski stamp set to make this week's card. Your came out great! Thanks for playing with us!

Fabulous!, love those wood skies...I think I have a pair in my dad's garage from the 70's...and a pair of fiberglass ones from the 80's.
ReplyDeleteYou are so good! This is gorgeous Michele! Love the background, the wreath, the skis, all of it!!
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous, Michele! I love how you layered your wooden skis with the wreath, and your 'stripe-y' goodness background is swoon-worthy, my friend! Really fabulous take on the inspiration photo!
ReplyDeleteOh this is fabulous, Michele! The ski background stripes are genius and your central image is beautiful! What a great take on the inspiration pic.
ReplyDeleteTotally fabulous and i LOVE that you used the skis for the background too!
ReplyDeleteI have had skis and a sled diecut on my wish list forever, and now I want them even more! This is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteThis is super sweet Michele! Yes, that's the first set I thought of too. It will be fun to see all the ideas that come from this inspiration piece. I love your "striped" background too. Perfectly awesome!!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh, Michele. That was a lovely little jaunt to read about your friend. Sweet! And then to come back and ooh and ahhhh over your fantastic creation. Those skis! Wow! And your striped background...looks amazing. I also really like your wreath with the jute running through it. So lovely and rustic. Fabulous work. :) Hugs!
ReplyDeleteMichele, I don't even have to tell you how sweet this card is! I do have a question, being kind of new to this whole business. Is your wreath completely made from scratch or did you start with a basic wreath from one of the stamp/die companies and add more sprigs? I am searching for just this type of wreath. LOVE yours. Thanks, JJ
ReplyDeleteOh get outta town, these is spot on Michele!! You nailed it, absolutely perfect and beautifully done!!
ReplyDeleteWow, Michele! Wonderful winter card! The wood veneer is perfect to represent the skis.
ReplyDeleteLove your background too!
Great take on the inspiration image!
I didn't even know you had that set but yes, it is perfect for this challenge. I did another ski card last week with a totally different feel. I love how you did the background, so clever of you, Michele.

ReplyDeleteOh this speaks to my winter loving heart! Love it!
ReplyDeleteLovely layers and such a delicious rustic-combined-with-chic style, Michele ... those ski stripes are brilliant in the background! Hugs, Anita :)
ReplyDeleteI LOVE your take on this one Michele...FABULOUS BG built with those skis:)) and the extra embossing on the skis was just what my card was missing.
ReplyDeleteYou are getting a lot of miles out of this pretty wreath!! I LOVE the way you wove the jute through it and the pretty sentiment at the bottom. Beautiful design!!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous card. I NEED this wreath... and maybe the JOY die, too.
ReplyDeleteWho are they by, Michele?
Love how you've wrapped around your wreath so neatly. Super job. X
